I cant speak for the longevity of these as of yet, but I installed them today, 1/27/2020. Installment was fairly simple. It definitely would have helped if I had someone hold the hatch open for me. But since I was on my own I used vice grips on the old strut in order for the hatch to stay open while I worked on the right side, much easier to unscrew the top from the strut itself and screw it into the original fixture then unscrew the bottom torx screw to remove the old strut. Then simply screw the bottom in. Make sure if your on your own you keep firm pressure to keep the hatch lifted as much as possible so the new screw goes in straight. I must say for the price it was definitely worth it.

These worked perfectly for the lift gate on my 2004 jeep grand cherokee. It's been a couple years and they still work great! Also very easy to install!

I swapped out the bad ones that had completely failed. This is the 3rd set on my 2002 Grand Cherokee. They were very strong and kinda hard to put on, by myself. Beware, when you get them on, they will knock you in the head if you are not careful. they are that strong. Good purchase and value for the money.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! Spend a little more, and get a set that have steel bolts, and not these which are made from the cheapest aluminum known to man. Stripped within a few turns. Plus they are a tad bit to long to begin with. Stripping might not be an issue if they weren't to long to start with. Either way don't waste your time or money. They are so cheaply made I doubt if you could find two sets exactly alike. Just my personal 2 cents on the matter.

Working great so far! The tailgate just about looks it’s self now with these on. Every video I saw about installing these suggested to do the bottom first and then the top but I found the exact opposite worked better. I actually stripped the top nut and bolt on one and had to retap the nut and run the bolt through a die to be able to finish the install. Worked much better for me installing the top first and then the bottom. Definitely a two person job!
