This drain is the one Elkay specified for our new brushed SS sink. The old drain would have worked, but this one looks to much better. Also, the strainer basket can stay in place and let the sink drain--just push it down to stop up the sink. With the old drain, we had to remove the strainer basket and replace it with a stop.The contractor that did our kitchen upgrade installed it, but I watched he process and it was very easy--much the same as any other sink drain.

Regulars sink strainers are too shallow. This strainer catches all my kitchen scraps from preparing meals quite nicely. I can then toss the scraps into the trash. Don’t have to worry about clogging the sink or ruining septic system.

This is the exact drain that was recommended on Elkay's site to match the new sink I just bought. It's a perfect match for my sink and I paid WAY less on Amazon than any other site I found it on. It was less than half what Elkay's price was. I love it and am so glad I got it for my sink. I had bought a universal inexpensive one but my plumber told me I would always regret not getting the one that matched my sink. I just figured a sink drain fitting is just a sink drain fitting...He postponed my sink installation until I got this drain fitting. I found it here on Amazon and got it in 2 days. I'm so happy I had a plumber that steered me the right way and that I saved so much by finding it here. It looks fantastic with my new Elkay sink and the other one would have detracted from the look of my gorgeous new sink.

Works as advertised but country of origin is very important to me.

I bought two of these to go with a new Elkay quartz sink we purchased on Amazon. The plumber even commented that he thought these were nice strainers when he installed them on the sink.After using the strainers for a full year on the sink, the strainers don't look as nice on the underside as they are V shaped and hard to clean there. There is no way to keep the strainer in the up position when draining the sink with water, other than removing it or holding it up with your hand.We have since moved and put two Kohler stainless steel strainer baskets into the house in two sinks. These you can lift up and turn a quarter turn to stay open. They are also more durable.

I liked that I didn't have to call a plumber to install it. Works like a charm
