Intake Manifold Kit with Gasket for Ford Mustang Crown Victoria Thunderbird Lincoln Town Car Mercury Cougar(V8 4.6L Only)

Replaced an intake on a 2000 Grand Marquis with this. No problems after three weeks and 1k miles. I did have to redrill holes for the alternator to mount on the bracket but no big deal. Old one wouldn't fit on new manifold.

Fit so far is ok. Still installing this part and will update this later. These are my observations so far.The factory intake uses metal thread inserts for the coils, this one does not. It uses corse threaded metal screws to self tap the predrilled holes. Not a deal breaker, time will tell how it does. Plus side is you don't have a insert to strip out.Fitment was almost perfect, everything so far has lined up enough to bolt down.My only real negative comment is that both of the brackets that brace the alternator to the intake Do Not Fit, and due to the updates the factory one doesn't fit either. I'm going to have to bend, hammer and likely weld what I got to make them work.Oh and the package was junk. Almost had damage to the intake from being manhandled by USPS. Parts of the intake were sticking through the box and the single layer of bubble wrap was practically useless.

Fit perfectly. No issues. Updated manifold from factory plastic thermostat housing and crossover that always cracks and leaks. Keep in mind that the replacement will have self tapping screws into the plastic for the ignition coils (if your car or truck has that style. mine still had plug wires. So, that wasn't an issue) and the throttle, speed control cable bracket. So, don't overtighten or get rowdy with an impact! See picture for instructions. They were not included. So, I have attached instructions that I have found online from summit racing that matched this kit the best. These are not my instructions, just borrowed. It will help with torque specs, sequence, bracket selection and included spacer use.
