Great switch for the value
To begin with, I'm a beginner and I'm just getting into this, building my home network and further down smart home projects. So far working great! It's compatible with mesh systems for backhauling settings. Ports look really good, lights are clear and bright enough even with the lit room. Feels sturdy and worked right of the box without any issues.

Best value for a basic unmanaged switch
I've been building and maintaining enterprise, SoHo, and residential networks for over 15 years. I used to think of TP-LINK as a low quality brand, but I have used their gear for low-budget installations many, many times over the years. I recently returned to service a professionally installed home network I had set up many years ago. The network terminates in an outdoor "shed" where a patch panel and a TP-LINK switch live, as well as some other networking gear. The structure is not climate controlled, so temperature and humidity are all over the place throughout the day and throughout the seasons. 5 years in those conditions and the TP-LINK switch was still just humming along, never had a single issue. That experience showed me that this company makes quality networking gear at excellent prices. Now I don't hesitate to buy TP-LINK switches when I need an unmanaged solution, and in the past 3 months I have done two installations using this model. It's a perfect option at a great price when you just need a gigabit switch that you can plug in and connect your nodes to. Very easy, very simple.Don't bother paying higher prices for other brands if all you need is a basic network switch. TP-LINK will perform just as well, and will last just as long.* Solid build quality.* Excellent performance (I've seen these things under very heavy load with no slowdowns on layers 2 or 3.* Great value! One reason to look for a different model is if you plan to add more switches later - this model doesn't have a fiberoptic port, which is ideal for connecting additional switches.

Clean interface
Much easier to configure than other switches I've worked with. Worked well and out of the box experience was quick and easy.

RJ45 WORKS! NOT Fiber Only.... but read on
I purchased this because of the price point even though I was a little skeptical. I have seen reviews and posts that say both RJ45 works and RJ45 doesn't work. I can say without a doubt, the RJ45 SFP+ module I put in is working and is passing traffic FAST. I am using a FS.com SFP-10G-T (66617) 10GBASE-T SFP+ Copper RJ-45 30m Transceiver Module. I am linking up at 1G to a SonicWall over copper and have not had any issues. The switch pulls basic DDM data and thinks it is a 10G port but shows Data Ready FALSE and the switch thinks it is a fiber transceiver - but it works. I also have some SFP+ fiber transceivers that were bought as Netgear Compatible and they are working the same as the copper transceiver - pulling basic DDM data but showing Data Ready FALSE.On a side note, TP-Link now shows on the switch datasheet a TL-SM5310-T. This is a multi-gig copper SFP+ transceiver and the compatibility matrix from the product page lists the TL-SX3008F as compatible (with a note that only one should be used - presumably from the heat generated and this a fanl-ess unit). Although in my initial testing I used 3 and had no problems other than a LOT of heat buildup. After several days my temps are only at 37C, actually lower than the optical SFP+ transceivers. I will probably get one of these transceivers if I start having issues with the FS ones I have.My network as of today (always changing) is as follows:SonicWall TZ400 - (getting public IP from ATT 50M pair bonded service with ATT in passthrough mode, LAN to TP-Link and WAN (WiFi) to the MS510TX on different VLANs)SonicPoint ACi - Connected to one of the GS110EMXsSonicPoint ACe - Connected to the MS510TXTP-Link TL-SX3008F (Aggregates 1G Copper from SonicWall, 10G Fiber from NAS, and feed 10G Fiber out)Netgear MS510TX (4 1G / 2 2.5G / 2 5G / 1 10G / 1 SFP+ fiber to TP-Link)Netgear XS505M (4 MultiGig feeding remote swithces / 1 SFP+ fiber to TP-Link)2x Netgear GS110EMX (Remote switches in other rooms)Most PC's are running 2.5G and there are (at least) two CAT6A drops in every room. And as always - YMMV

Works Great but Failed 2 Months Past Warranty Period
I’ve used TP-Link products for years. They just work! However I’m starting to see a common issue with all of the electronics manufactured today. Electronics are not lasting like they used to. Older products used to run and run. You’d replace them for newer faster features, not because they broke. Now it seems like today’s electronics are made to be replaced. I purchased this switch again because it functions well for my needs. I hope this 24 port unmanaged switch will last another 3 plus years like the last one I purchased.
