A few years ago I was suffering from a thiamine deficiency. This threw me though a loop because I was taking a b-complex. The dr told me to change brands.So I did. Came back a month later to be retested and - shock - I was still low.Dr frowned. Told me to change brands and double the dose.A month later, still low.At this point he was getting worried and I was getting mad. Chose the most expensive thiamine at the health food store, took 4x the recommended dose and STILL LOW.It took six attempts before I tried Solaray. I was taking two of the 500's and that FINALLY did the trick. (The doc was about to go off on a series of very expensive tests and exploration and that spared me months of medical hell and bills)This is the ONLY brand of thiamine that I *know* actually works. I took it for years and years.So why did I knock it down a star?Because they quit making the 500's and now I have to take TEN of these darn things a day. Combined with my other meds, this is an extreme burden. Now I'm struggling to make myself do it. The only reason I even try is that I don't dare switch brands after everything I went through, but I truly hate it with all my heart. I'm ready to just suck it up and live with thiamine deficiency for the rest of my life.

I've been using Solaray vitamins since the 90's. These are worth the little extra money.

I've taken this for a few years. Having it available on Amazon is convenient.
