Great bang for your buck all around rod
Favorite Rod I’ve had. It has gotten me 6.42 pound bass and 9 pound cat fish at 60+ feet. Rod casts 1/4oz Ned rigs very well same with 1/2 oz lipless crank baits.

Very stiff, heavy rod.
Truth is, this rod acts and performs about how it's supposed to is my guess. I was hoping it to have a little faster tip so that it could also be used for casting frogs - but it's really too stiff for that (IMO). I also find that the sensitivity is not great - but this could be as I do not use heavy power rods all that often and was looking for and expecting a greater level of sensitivity. So, it may be unfair for me to give this rod 3 stars - as it probably does exactly what it is supposed to do.That said, I am actually a big fan of Dobyns Fury line of rods. I own 4 of them, 2 swimbait rods, 1 crankbait rod and this one. I love the other three, especially the crankbait rod (it's literally one of my favorite rods to use and I have many that cost 2-3 times as much).I think Dobyn's makes some good rods and this Fury line is really a bargain for it's list price.FWIW, I've paired this rod with the following reels: Shimano Curado 151 DC, Shimano Tranx 301 (the 1 connotates just that the reel is left hand retrieve).I don't use this rod very much at all, part of that is my lake houses bass in the 1.5 to 2.5 pound range mostly and a 4 pound bass is considered huge and rare. Secondly, my lake doesn't lend well to pitching/punching that much as the bottom is so soft that a punching rig with a 1+ ounce weight simply disappears into the bottom 12" of totally carpeted weeds (where no fish actually live or reside). So treat my review of this specific rod with a grain of salt. I can say, once again, Dobyns Fury rods have been great and I think the company is good and reliable.

Best rod under $200 in my humble opinion.
I've got 4 Dobyns Fury series rods now. Each rod is for a specific bait/ technique. Awesome accuracy and great back bone. Caught a 12 + lb bass on a frog in some thick, nasty cover. I had no problem getting that fish outbof the cover and into the boat. Light and comfortable to fish all day. I will be buying more.

Nice long rod with plenty of backbone, but not too stiff.
I bought this rod primarily for using weightless and ultralights. I wanted to be able to cast these type light baits far distances, but be able to reel the line in quickly. I paired the rod with a Daiwa Fuego CT 8.1:1 bait-casting reel filled with 10 lb mono-filament line. For what it is worth to you, this is my second of these rods and reels. I am pleased with both. The rod itself is very nice and seemingly sturdy construction. The rod, with a reel, is comfortable to hold and palm with the reel I have and is reasonably light. The rod has plenty of backbone to me and features a fairly sensitive rod tip for my purposes. With a oiled up and/or properly adjusted quality reel and thinner diameter line, it will really fire lighter baits a good distance from you.One drawback is that the reel seat threads are very short. The screw has not backed off or loosened during fishing, but the shortness of the reel seat and threads are noticeable on the rod. Also, the rod butt may be a little shorter for some people's preference, but it does not bother me. The second thing that I noticed is that the line guides seem to bend a little easier than other manufacturer's rods. I am not hard on my gear, but not overly-anal either except when traveling by land or water.I would rate this rod 3.75/5.00 stars if I could for the two, what I think are designer or materials errors, things I found with it to me. That said, I think this rod should serve you well for a technique specific rod, such as what I am doing at a relatively affordable price: $110-120 range.

One of the best rods at this price point
Small boat fisherman that use to fish KBF tournaments etc. In the past I have fished big boat tournaments with friends and had the luxury of trying some of the higher end Dobyn Champions, Loomis, Powell, and Kistler Rods. I’ve found that the $75-130 is the sweet price point for small boat fishing. These rods offer some of the actions of higher priced rods and if you catch one in a car door it’s easier on the pocket to replace if needed. After fishing many of the brands in this price point (Lews, 6 Sense, Piscifun, KastKing, etc.)I find the Dobyns to be my favorite. I will look to purchase more in my favorite actions.Overview:Purchased the 7ft heavy fast for jig fishing.Rod is well built. The combo foam and cork grips are nice. Rod finish is nice as well. Guides are well placed and good quality. I noticed that Dobyns doesn’t push guides and rod blanks like other brands in this price point. The most sensitive of the rods in this price point that I have tried in this price range. The only con I can see and it doesn’t bother me is that it is heavier than most at this price point.

great rod maker
Met Gary a couple times when he was speaking to tourney teams pre-tournament. Great guy and awesome fisherman in his day. But he makes a good quality rod for the money. I have three of these, I prefer the 734 model and mostly use them for topwater and other long cast bats. Paired with Diawa Tatula you have a great setup. Not the lightest or most sensitive but good rod for the price. After about 3 years one of the handles came loose in the reel seat and they replaced for free. Great warranty (But it is $50 for shipping a return). Highly recommend these. The next level up is Kistler and I have several of those but they are more expensive. Also just picked up a couple "favorite" fishing rods - too soon to tell on those. But the Dobyns rods are a great value all around rod.

Great Value for a High Performance Rod
I ordered a 6’6” MH rod and got a 7’3” MH rod for the same price so all is good.....Read other reviews on this rod...It is an economy priced rod that sells for between $95sale - $119 full retail in US funds..For your money, you get a rod with high quality parts for handle, reel seat, guides and blank. The rod is very well finished..This is my second Dobyns Fury rod as I was very pleased with the performance and value of my first one that is still going strong...You do not always need to spend big bucks for big value performance...Oh ya, keep it in a Rod Glove for storage and travel to protect from nicks, chips and rash.

High Performance Rod at a Bargain Price
This is my 3rd Heavy/Fast Dobyns Fury Rod.I use them for all top water Bass bait presentations and especially froggin.I have two paired with Lews Pro Ti’s and one with a Zillion HD.I use 50Lb Power Pro braid on all three reels. This rod is light, strong and so far durable. The fast tip is great for hook sets and the heavy action has lots of back bone when the rod loads up.The cork grip on the handle is very comfortable in hand. You could pay a lot more for another brand but why bother when the cost benefit equation on a Dobyns Fury rod is so good?..I strongly recommend you keep your equipment in Rod/Reel Gloves to protect during travel.

Damaged Rod Upon Delivery
The rod had three bent out guides upon delivery and no support or wrapping to prevent damages from happening. The rod also had many scratches on it. As far as the rod is concerned it is great for fishing in light cover but is to limber for fishing heavy vegetation. I would recommend the rod but not from amazon.

Great rod!
There is a reason I own multiple dobyns rods. They are great, even the fury line up. For the price, you're getting a solid/sensitive rod. I like the moderate fast action, works great for medium size crankbaits, squarebills, lipless, jerkbaits, even smaller swimbaits with light wire hooks.

Excellent Frog Rod
Decided to pick this up as a replacement for my broken quantum smoke frog rod. I looked through a few forums and consistently saw the Fury being recommended as a good frog rod. paired with a quantum accurist 7.0:1 and 65lb braid. Pulled about 15 fish out of the slop with this rod and I have no complaints. whatsoever.
