Bought this 12000 4 yrs ago, i have it running on propane only, starts right up every time. I really put it to the test during hurricane beryl. I was out 6 days without power, and had my house up and running. I had a house lights, two refrigerators, washer, dryer, and a temporary window unit for our master bedroom. Overall: i would definitely recommend Duromax.

It seems to be a solidly built machine and for the price we got it for on a prime day sale it is more than worth it.

This is a GREAT generator, and a great deal during black Friday. We live in a somewhat rural area that gets occasional power outages, but if the main line to our area goes down, we'd be out for days. This gives me piece of mind.Electric start is amazing. Comes right up!As I type this, we're experiencing a planned 8-hour power outage (power company is installing new poles). Plugged this bad boy into the interlock kit port, flipped the interlock and breaker, and we're at full strength. Right now it's running lights, 2 fridges, the hot tub (which I just now realized I didn't turn off!) and all our household electronics. I haven't flipped back on the HVAC yet but I'm pretty sure this beast will handle it.Easy assembly, all tools included. It's loud, but it's not designed as a quiet generator so that's not a ding, just letting y'all know. It's also quite heavy, but the wheels and handles make it pretty easy to move around without too much trouble.Safety note: PLEASE remember to ground your generators!

Assembly instructions with tools and wire plugs for making your own power cables are a really nice addition. It may be some time before I have to use the generator, so I can't attest to performance. There are two metal shipping braces used to protect the engine motor mounts. One of them had lost it's bolt and was in the bottom of the box with accompanying nut. Hopefully this won't cause issues down the road. No noted damage though.

I like the ease of starting (1 push of the button and it will start). I have full confidence in the unit when I pull the generator out it starts every time. I did the natural gas conversion and this generator works very well. The first time the power went out after purchasing the unit, my 30 year old daughter set it up and started it while I instructed her over the phone. Yes, that simple. I highly recommend.

DuroMax stands above all others in my opinion as one who has purchased and used multiple generators for many years. it is superior in terms of design, power, durability, and performance. It starts without effort, runs more quietly and reliably, and delivers premium power. The owners manual was easy to read, complete in every way, beautifully produced and will be a usage guide I will keep for years to come. I am using this with a Generac transfer switch to power my entire home. What a comfort to know I'll always have backup power when I need it for a fraction of the cost of other standby generators.

I purchased this item last week. It was delivered on 2/13/23. I immediately assembled the item in accordance with the User Manual. I attempted to use the Propane source. After MANY attempts, the generator WILL NOT START. I tried contacting Duramax directly via phone, voicemail and email and have yet to hear back, I then contacted Amazon who has done nothing but send me around in circles and refusing to help resolve the issue. I do understand that the item CANNOT BE RETURNED but according to the item description, it is ELIGIBLE FOR A REFUND OR REPLACEMENT and AMAZON PRODUCT SUPPORT. Amazon has refused to initiate a REFUND or REPLACEMENT and has continued to direct me to the Manufacturer for Product Support. How is that AMAZON PRODUCT SUPPORT???? I did purchase the Asurian Insurance coverage with the product and Amazon has told me to file a claim...once again avoiding any involvement in resolution. I purchased the coverage (3 years) in case I encountered issues down the road and not to use on a brand new defective item! I am willing to work with Manufacturer and Amazon but I am not getting the support from Amazon. My next step is contact Amex and get them involved......stay tunedUpdate....after receiving no help from Amazon, I was able to get in touch with Duromax and they were unbelievably helpful. After walking me through several unsuccessful troubleshooting solutions, it was determined that I had received defective unit. Without hesitation, they offered to send me a new unit directly from them at no cost (since I was still within the 30 day window for returns). If you are considering purchasing this item, I strongly suggest that you skip the "middleman" and purchase directly from Duromax. If not for them standing behind their product I would be stuck with a BRAND NEW worthless pile of scrap metal. Thank you Duromax for picking up the ball that was dropped and kicked by Amazon!!!

Since we live in Florida, we looked at a stand-by whole system which was $18000.00+ for our home. We decided to go with a portable generator and had an electrician wire to the house according to code.This unit will power the whole house (940 Sq.Ft.) including our 2 ton a/c without issue. The generator electric start is a huge plus. The dual fuel feature is extra convenient too. I hooked up a trickle charger to the battery and we never have any starting issues.Very happy with this generator, I highly recommend it.
