I adore this set of yarn; the variety of colors is amazing, and the yarns are soft and strong, with a very subtle sheen that isn't as bright as Caron Simply Soft, but not so dull that it appears fuzzy or rough. I appreciate that some of the colors come in hues which are part of a gradient (example in picture), which is very difficult to find when looking for acrylic yarns.As for negatives, the yarns are all thinner than advertised: I would say they're more accurately between 2 and 3 on the weight scale. I can still use them, but I was hoping they'd be a tiny bit thicker.The tote the set comes in is disappointing, but not a huge deal (unless you were relying on it to store these skeins): it opens by zipper around the middle of the bag... it's not terrible, but there's no way you could reasonably store all the skeins of yarn and tools in there and be able to access the ones you need without risking tangling the yarn, or worse, things falling out and being lost.The hooks are standard aluminum hooks with no grip. Not terrible, but I have better ones. They are also way too large for the yarn... I already put them away, but I believe one was 4 mm and the other was 5.5 mm. I typically use a 3.5 mm hook or smaller, and it was a bit larger than it needed to be for these yarns.The large-eyed yarn needles are also unsuitable for this yarn.I do like the stitch markers included, though: they're very useful.Overall, I love the set and colors, but I wouldn't say it's for beginners. The skeins are too small and the yarn is too thin to really be able to practice with, and it's not cost effective at all. It would be better suited for an experienced crochet artist who is looking for a large variety of colors to use in amigurumi work.

This yarn set is fantastic! It comes with a great variety of vibrant colors that are perfect for all kinds of knitting and crochet projects. The included carrying case is a nice bonus—keeps everything organized and makes it easy to take my projects on the go. The yarn itself is soft and easy to work with. Overall, a great value for anyone who loves crafting!

I was surprised at the quality of this yarn! I have never bought any small skeins and was surprised at how much I could do with these. I'm making crochet buntings and love the variety of colors. For the price, I was anticipating coarse and scratchy yarn but this is soft enough to use on baby projects! I have used about 7 colors and they're easy to crochet with, not splitting. It's buttery smooth in your hands!I haven't washed any projects so I can't speak to that side of things.I love that it comes in a zippered bag to keep them all together. I would buy again but there is soooo much yarn, I don't think I'll need to!

I'm new to Yarn crafts. Bought this for the large assortment of colors. The yarns rolls are smaller than I thought. And the storage bag for this is a cheap material not great quality. I was hoping to buy a nice bag for yarn to use over and over. This is cheap quality. Looks better in the photos. The yarn is soft and great assortment.

I am a beginner (or maybe re-beginner. I did a little when I was a kid). I was looking for a bag to carry projects in and some yarn for beginner projects. This one seemed a little costly, but i thought the bag would be okay and the yarn a bonus. So, with those expectations, I was disappointed in the quality of the bag. It is like a cheap shopping bag. The zipper is in the middle that would give access to everything, but could be a big mess with everything getting tangled. The included hooks are like pictured, but don’t seem to fit the yarn. The markers are the ones I like. There are a of different colors of the yarn, and I’m not experienced enough to review the quality. They are small sized as advertised Overall, it’s an okay kit, just not really what I wanted.

This is the ideal grannie square kit. I did not use either of the hooks provided because I’m strictly a Susan Bates girl. The plastic needles were welcome. I was down to my last one. I like those little plastic stitch markers but I always wind up breaking them, no matter, safety pins are reliable. Mainly I love the yarns. They’re beautiful and add spice to any project. I’ve always wanted to do a cross stitch pattern in crochet for a pillow top & now I think I’ll try it. Just a plain single crochet should duplicate the cross stitch effect. I’m 89 y/o & I’ve got a feeling it’s now or never.

I loved the yarn after I got used with it and found the right size hook. It is tedious at times because it splits and some of the balls have knots, but overall I was able to crochet some cool things with so many beautiful colors. Yes, the balls are small - but a decent size is you're doing amigurumi or granny squares, and supplement for the main color with yarn from the store. The needles broke fast and I did not care for the hook that comes with the kit, but I am still using the markers.Not sure if I'd recommend this for complete beginners...It's thick enough to make it easy, but it's splitting at times and it's slippery. I think there is a learning curve with any yarn and tools.
