I have been making my own sausage for about a years, so I am still getting all the tools together. I had been pricking any air pockets with a sharp tipped knife, having other tools than a pricker further up the list. I finally got around to ordering this pricker, and its a handy dandy little tool. Having 3 prongs is something I am sure the sausage making world figured out long ago, but it just hit me that it works better than one hole (yeah, I know, Duh!) The prongs on this set seem like they should last for quite a while, and stay sharp for a while too. pleased with this purchase.

They can also be used to help prevent sausages or hot dogs from getting too big and splitting while boiling. I think these are average quality. I question how long the plastic part will last. I’m not sure that it will last all that long, but it should last for a few seasons worth of preparing sausages and hot dogs. The prickers themselves are very usable and they are pretty sharp. I would definitely not leave these around for smaller children because of the obvious. Despite the usefulness of these prickers, there needs to be a prop 65 warning for California online because it seems like a waste to receive these only to see a prop 65 warning on their box. This is important for anyone who is concerned. Despite this, these are very useful to have around for cooking and in the kitchen.
