This shampoo is PERFECT!! Light tea tree scent. Good lather. You don't need much to get the job done. My flaky scalp is better after one week of use. As the bottle says, use it every 3 or 4 days - not too often.This is the perfect replacement for that one brand. I will call it out by name, as some other reviewers are reluctant to do. NIZORAL shampoo smells terrible!! I can't stand their generic overly-strong bathroom cleaner fragrance. I learned that ketoconazole worked for me but I actually let the dry flakes come back because I couldn't stand to use that stuff.After lots of searching I found this.This bottle is the exact same fluid oz as the Niz but it costs less. How perfect is that!?! Less expensive and no awful fragrance smell. It's a godsend.This shampoo cleared up my dry skin and scalp zit-bumps at the same time. I use a gentle co-wash on the days I don't use this shampoo. So glad to have relief from the skin condition and from the fragrance of that "other" brand.

This stuff is actually great! We were trying it as an alternative to Nizoral. I didn’t expect much but this is better. Not as drying and very effective so far. My son says it’s better than Nizoral. Love the pump. Really impressed. I hope it doesn’t go away.

I've got bumps on my head that hurt when touched and are slightly itchy. If that wasn't enough, I was losing lots and lots of hair. I tried a biotin shampoo and another shampoo that was highly rated for this type of problem. Neither of them seemed to help. My dermatologist just said to stop scratching and the hair loss would probably stop at some point. Yeah, that was helpful. New doctor please. Finally, I saw this and thought "what have I got to lose, there's not much hair left". Surprise! After the first use, I saw a big reduction in my hair loss. Used it a second time and.. even better. I do still have some bumps but it's early. I'll update after I've used it for longer but with the improvement in hair loss, I'm very happy!

Been using the only game in town for ketoconazole shampoo for years, was pleased to find an alternative. I like the pump, much easier in the shower. It lathers up in the hair decent enough. It has no scent which for me is a plus, not competing with other soap or shampoo that may be used. So far so good.

This one did the trick. I have lifelong scalp issues which once in a while annoy me enough to try another round of different products. I thought I would try a ketoconazole-based shampoo again but didn't want to do the brand-name one in the blue bottle because I always found its scent unpleasant, lingering and overpowering, and I had mixed results with it in the past. I bought this one because it has the same active ingredient and my impression from the reviews was that it was mildly scented.It has worked extremely well, better than any other shampoo I have tried. I use it 2-3 times a week. The scent is mild and pleasant enough, what I think of as "health food store shampoo scent," like it's scented with natural peppermint essential oil. The fragrance does not linger.My scalp feels just...normal and neutral, for the first time in years, which is pretty amazing. Before, I could run my fingers through my hair and find numerous built up crusty areas and they are gone. Since the active ingredient is the same as the brand name stuff, I wonder if the fragrance or some additional ingredients in the brand name stuff kept it from working as well.

BEWARE: THE FORMULA / ACTIVE INGREDIENTS HAVE CHANGED!I purchased this product solely on the basis that it was a shampoo containing 1% ketoconazole, and clearly it *used to be* just that because the reviews and reviewers photos show that the packaging once matched with the product's current listing/description as a ketoconazole shamppo. However, the manufacturer has changed their formula without updating the description, so despite what you see in the information and older reviews, this shampoo has *ZERO ketoconazole* now, and the only active ingredient in this new version is salicylic acid (2%). This is very frustrating, and companies should be diligent in updating product information, especially if they are completely changing the formula / active ingredients for a known product!That said, if you want a salicylic acid shampoo, this one seems fine enough---it smells like pleasantly minty and doesn't seem to have any negative effects on hair---but it won't provide the benefits of ketoconazole, and personally, I think zinc pyrithione is more effective for scalp issues than salicylic acid.Overall, if you're looking for a ketoconazole shampoo, your options just became more limited again. I was excited to try an alternative to Nizoral, but this is no longer it.

My daughter has had a horrible scalp problem for years! Itchy, dandruff, irritated to the point where she would pick at it and she'd end up bleeding and have dandruff all over her hair! She has super thick long dark curly hair and was so embarrassed over the dandruff. We have tried many many shampoos over the years and sought medical treatment. After some research online I finally came across this product and the reviews from people with similar issues. After about 2 weeks of using this about 3 times a week she has informed me that for the first time in YEARS her scalp is clear with zero itching or dandruff and zero impulse to pick her scalp which had become a real problem habit for her. Needless to say we just ordered our 2nd bottle. If any of your symptoms are similar to ours trust me and buy this shampoo!!

I really enjoy this shampoo for managing my SD. My scalp gets itchy and flaky due to this condition, but this shampoo keeps all of that in check. I use it three times a week, applying 3 pumps to my long hair. It lathers well, has a mild herbal scent, and feels great on my scalp. I leave it on for a few minutes while doing other things. Surprisingly, my hair is left super soft, easy to detangle, and shines more than it has in years. Love it!
