The best sewing awl
I like this a lot better then the most popular brand - I took the advice of one of the reviewers and added a half a spring off a ball point pen - it's a little hard to get the bobbin installed next to it but it's doable and really makes the job pleasant! I can stitch so much faster then with the other style sewing awl! Worth the money/ good quality, the included thread and 3 bobbins is a great touch.

Expensive but the last one you'll ever buy.
I avoided buying this one for awhile cause it was double/triple price of even the full kits. After breaking, returning, or just couldn't use due to quality.I broke down and bought this.I was skeptical because it wasn't even a kit and only came with three needles so I already had a return box ready.Upon first use I immediately noticed that it was made of a composite material and not wood or metal. It was comfortable in my hand and wasn't cold or uneven from being wood. You can also tell that whoever made this loved their job due to the amazing craftsmanship and attention to detail.Like there wasn't any hard edges, nicks, burrs, or blemishes on this tool!I have tried and used pretty much every style leather sewing awl and compared to this one non are even in the same class.Everything about this tool says this company cares about what goes out their doors, quality is priority, and wants this tool to be the last one you'll ever buy.I use this tool for any and all repare job, craft, making seat belt and tow straps sex swings, restraining tools, fixing stilettos or work boots, making improved knife sheaths out of tow straps that will never wear out, fixing my knee pads, making new captain seat covers for my RV, I'll probably see if I can use this next time I get a flat tire or adding new zipper to my black shiny mask.I've used this thing for making extended wratchet strapes to fixing women's dance wear.Has never let me down, needles are still new sharp, and evething is stored in the handle so you can carry it anywhere. The cap that screws off for the storage has tapered threads so when it tight there's no way it'll back off on its own under any circumstance. My only criticism is the bobbin has no drag so the thread will sometimes become loose and wrap outside of bobbin and if unnoticed has to be cut and disassembled to get back right.I fixed this problem and made the 100% by adding a cut down pen spring you put on the screw between the bobbin and the inlet screw hole(not the hole that's threaded)The spring is from a ball point pen and is literally 2 turns and made this tool into the tool I have been talking about this whole review.Without the spring I think I would have returned it really.Without any drag on the thread it makes using this tool a waste of time cause your gonna be either rewinding your bobbin or taking screw that holds bobbin so you can get thread goin back right. You'll try and use your thumb to add drag till your really making progress and almost done so you relax and don't put enough pressure causing it to knot up around the f*cringe retaining screw again!!!Last bobbins hold a very good amount of thread so you aren't constantly rewinding and changing them out.Final stroke before you finish is everything I said I have used this for and allot more for almost a year now and the needles are still surgical sharp!!Your welcome.

Worked Great for a Quick Repair
Missing the brown and black thread, only came with the white. Other than that, as advertised and works well... Nevermind found them

Fantastic Stitcher
Fantastic stitcher. I've used other leather stitchers in the past and they were all difficult to assemble and worse to use. This had a very easy assembly and use was even easier. I bought it specifically to stitch up a mask made of wire mesh and leather. The large needle plowed right through the two materials and the thread provided held them very firmly together. If you have tough materials to sew together then this is definitely the tool you need. As a side note the directions that come with this are trash like most things written in foreign lands. Just go on YouTube and there are bunches of good videos on how to put this together and use it.

DON'T GIVE TREAD ANY SLACK, I WAS USING BLACK TREAD TOOL IS BLACK TREAD REEL ON THE SPACE ON SCREW NOT ON SPOOL IT WAS A PAIN TO UNSPIN IT FROM SCREW I'D SCATCH TOOL BAD TRYING TO REMOVE TREAD, MAYBE MY FAULT? SPOOL SHOULD BE SAME SIZE AS GAP SO THAT DON'T HAPPEN !!!POOR DESIGN WILL NOT BUY AGAIN THAT DESIGN.

Good design
These sewing awls in my opinion have never been easy to use. They're very tedious. They are great for small projects and repairs. That said, I like this one best with the spool close to the tip. I also have a sewing awl that feeds the thread from a spool in the handle. It looks slick, but I prefer the design with the spool closer to the needle. I think it feeds the thread easier.
