Satisfyingly scientific, age appropriate and easily understood
I just finished reading the book and am ready to give it to my daughter. The content is satisfyingly scientific, age-appropriate; and easily understood. At first I was concerned because a reviewer mentioned that the instructions for tampon use was quite graphic. Well, I'm glad it's there. It needs to be there because it is part of the territory.I may feel that my daughter needs to wait a few more years before she uses tampons but I need her to be equipped about it. With this book she will learn about it properly which is far better than having "this is how you do it" sessions with girlfriends where she may get some less accurate information. The illustrations and instructions for tampon use make it LESS awkward for me to teach my daughter about it.I will recommend this book to my mom-friends. I will definitely buy the next two books in the series that the author is working on.

Fantastic Resource for my 11 Year Old!
(The wife writing this review! Haha.) I bought my 11-year-old daughter this book, because she’s getting to the age when her period will probably arrive soon and a book is more coherent and graphic (in a good way) in explaining all the womanly changes. She has already undergone all of the signs of puberty, except getting her period, so I believed this would be a good, final piece. My daughter loved the story format of the book, the clear graphics, and helpful information. She raved about the book multiple times and said she’d give it a 4/5 star.A few have complained about the illustrations, but you know what? Your daughter is going to need to know how it works, what it looks like, and probably has already scanned her body inquisitively, so I don’t understand the squeamishness about it.It’s a great resource for Christians or more conservative families as it doesn’t impose a certain ideology and simply states facts clearly. I’m going to recommend this book to my sister-in-laws.

Just facts!!
We haven't read this book yet (next year), but I did look it over before I put it on the shelf. Just like the previous book, it is just facts without pushing an agenda. Great for conservative families. The recommended ages are also appropriate in my opinion.

A tiny bit more than a 10 year old may be ready for?
I really liked this book. I purchased it for my 10 year old...however, I read the entire book first (as I always will with this subject matter), and I found it just a teensy bit too informative. Personally, I think the information in the later parts of this book is more suited for 11-13 year olds. The way the information is presented is excellent, but it's just a smidgen ahead of what i think should be presented just yet. Since this is different for different people, I certainly recommend reading through it yourself. I'm saving the author to refer back to when 6th grade arrives.

Perfect introduction for my 11yo
I bought this to help have “The Period Talk” with my 11-year-old who is starting to exhibit signs of puberty. She’s a little young for her age so I was nervous. They did a great job of explaining things without getting into too much technical detail. The book does mention the words sexual intercourse but only once or twice when explaining how a sperm gets to meet the egg. My daughter completely glazed over that part - which means they did a good job of keeping it age appropriate. The monthly cycle explanation kind of confused her but that may have been because I spent too much time on the whole thing. I will revisit it with her in smaller doses over the next few months.

Awesome book
I try to be very open and blunt with my daughter about how her body works and what to expect as she turns the corner toward adolescence. I try to anticipate any questions, no matter how awkward, and answer them clearly and honestly. We’ve started our way through this book and after the first chapter she asked A LOT of good questions! It gets the dialogue started and the photos and descriptions are really detailed, accurate, and educational. I would recommend this to any parent/adolescent.

Worth it !
I order this for my 11 yr old daughter. She wasn’t too happy when I gave it to her. But after reading it she actually called me (while on My way home) and she said “mom I love this book “ when I got home I wanted to read the book. I actually like that book, it explains a lot. I did have a conversation with her at 10 yrs old but I want to make sure I remind of this changes.
