From Eden to Bethlehem: An Animals Primer (Baby Believer)

Absolutely beautiful baby books that are just another opportunity to speak scripture into my baby’s life!

We love the Baby Believer board books for my 18 month old, but this one isn't my favorite. The illustrations are definitely just as beautiful as the other books. But the animals they chose were super random. The Biblical references were a little stretched- for example, in some places the animal name wasn't even used (like Mary riding into Bethlehem was the verse for donkey). Some pages/verses had one animal and others had two. Most were based on different verses but then one verse in Isaiah was stretched into like three different sets of animals.It seemed unnecessary to work so hard to make the Bible cover animals, since there are TONS of animals mentioned in the Bible they could have used but didn't (a hen gathering her chicks? Holy Spirit like a dove? Ant in Proverbs? Deer? All the ones in Job? You really had to use ONE verse in Isaiah for so many?)I guess the point is supposed to be, as the title says, that they were trying to show the path "from Eden to Bethlehem", but that feels like a stretch too- the book doesn't really convey the narrative unless you're really looking for it; instead, to me, it felt kind of abrupt that it ended at the very beginning of the New Testament instead of including more of the life of Jesus.And for an animal book for babies, the animal choices were a bummer because a lot of them don't have recognizable noises that are fun to teach my boy.Not a bad book, and we still read it plenty, but not Baby Believers' best work. Try the other ones in the series first :)

These are the coolest, sweetest books ever!! So far, my almost 2 year old loves them. And I can tell they’ll be a favorite for years to come!Even though they are board books, they don’t seem “baby”, will be really great for young kids as well! Put 3 of them in his Easter basket— so perfect!

These books are super sweet and I love the illustrations. I love how they are using an animal primer to talk about teh Bible for little ones. My 1 year old loves them!

I love these theologically rich, beautiful children's and baby books! I buy them for all the special moms and babies in my life!

The images are vibrant and eye-catching. There’s Scripture. And the book is somewhat bigger than what I expected! Totally recommend!

For over a year now, this has been our go-to for birthdays, Christmas gifts for all the babies in our lives. Now we finally have our own copy for our new son. We love the beautiful artwork, intentional content -- all thoughtfully put together to allow kids to engage with deep Christian truths at an early age. Thanks, Danielle!
