Never A Leak, Not Once
There is simply nothing like a Fumoto oil drain valve. I have used these on buses which are rated for severe duty service. We run them 12 years and then sell them. I install Fumoto valves at the first oil change. I have never had one leak not once not even a drop. I get a spring style ring clamp to be on the safe side you can pick them up at Lowe's or Home Depot I believe they are like 1/2" or 5/8" for this particular one anyway you just take it into the store with you and see what fits. Very cheap. I see Fumoto has a clip now you can get but I like the sturdiness of the ring. And the fellowship of the ring as well. Draining is slow if you do it cold because the passage is simply smaller. However, most vehicle manuals will indicate getting the vehicle to operating temperature before changing oil to rid as much dirt as possible from the engine. This works out ok because hot oil will not hit you due to just having to flip a handle. The oil filter is another matter of course.

Great for the DIY Oil Change
This is a must have item if you do your own oil changes. I have a 2015 6.7l Cummins and it works great. I'm originally from Montana and when I was a kid we had a saying that perfectly describes what it's like changing your oil without one of these valves, "a cow pissing on a flat rock". When you pull the drain plug and 12 quarts of hot used oil come rushing at you things can get messy in a hurry. Not with this valve, the oil flows out smoothly and is easy to control. I use tubing and drain into the empty oil jugs from my last oil change, works out great. There are some people people out there that say these things could lead to accidentally draining your oil by running over road debris. That is total nonsense. My dad runs these on his semi trucks that travel over 100000 miles a year. He has never once had one open accidentally. Do yourself a favor, buy this.

Works great
Purchased this for a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500. Threads were an exact fit. The valve is easy to work and everything seems to be high quality parts. Obviously I don't have the time test on it, but I don't forsee that being an issue. After putting a little oil on the seal, setting per the directions, there was zero leaks. This leaves you plenty of room to attach a hose if needed, or you can drain without a hose if you want. This is going to make my oil changes sooooo much easier from now on. No more spilling hot oil on my hands and arms. This will also be great for getting samples for testing.

Had some fears, but after using this they are gone
I was worried about installing this valve for obvious reasons. I can tell you that anyone that tells you this valve could spontaneously open is out of their mind. This thing is hard to open when you want to get it open, much less open it accidentally. The other worry I always hear is that it will get hit by something and break off, again, not likely on this application (2013 RAM 2500, 6.7l Cummins) as the drain bolt is just behind the front axle. If something is close enough to hit this, it is going to damage the oil pan regardless. Oil changes will be a breeze now with no mess. I highly recommend getting one of these and quit covering yourself in diesel oil.

Slow flow, take it easy...
Been using it on my 5.9 Cummins for a good 30k miles so far. No leaks, easy to drain. The flow is a bit slow, but it's a trade off.Click over a tab, or reverse thread a drain plug until it clicks then yank it away in hopes that you get your hand away from the hot oil. Besides, that oil is toxic.AND!If you do regular oil analysis, it's easy to drain off the first flow, close, and catch mid drain oil flow. You know, like a urine test....

It's a valve
It's, a valve for your oil pan. Not much to it. Doesn't create the best seal as you can see, but it's a very slow leak(does not drip). I was doing a monthly check one time and found the valve wasn't closed all the way so it had a slow drip. Just keep in mind to double check it every now and again. That's my only couple issues(minor at best).

It is nice not having to mess with the plug anymore and ...
If you are OK with the reduction in drain hole size, It is nice not having to mess with the plug anymore and to be able to drain straight into an empty container for recycling. just a further update after a couple of years. No leaks. People make statements about not draining all the oil because of the opening and configuration. I fill-up the oil containers and pretty much match what the manual says should be the quantity of oil to put in. I think some people may not believe it because they forget about all the oil spilled or left on the drain pans when you don't use a Fumoto. I have it on my motorcycle and my truck.

Perfect fit for my 2014 Ram 3500 Cummins 6.7L Diesel
Solid little valve. Will definitely make changing the oil faster and cleaner. It will also allow the oil to be changed while it is hot. I was a little concerned about how secure the valve would be and was surprised how well it locks in place when closed. As added security I put a lock tie on it which can simply be cut off at my next change. The valve will also allow you to take an oil sample for testing if you want.*I added the blue cap I happened to have laying around just to keep the valve hole clean.
