Seems to be a high quality pump
This is my third pump in 8 years of irrigating from our lakes. I have learned that monitoring system status is key to reliable pump function because there are so many things that can go wrong that affect intake / prime stability. I try to monitor my midnight irrigation starts routinely, but every year or so the pump looses prime and runs semi-dry all night (not good). This 2HP Wayne pump appears to be well constructed and worked perfectly as part of my 'restore system function' / maintenance project. The only difference is that it does not have a plug to provide access for priming the pump, but I could never tell those did any good anyway. I've added a 3/4' fitting and ball valve to the intake pipe to prime the pump. If things go as planned, I'll never have to use it. But odds of never having issues again are slim - so many things can and do go wrong - debris stuck in foot valve, leaking fittings from exposure to winter, cracks from freezing, etc. An auto temp sensing heater rope around the pump seems to work for trouble free irrigation all winter, while draining the pump just seems to cause cracked housings. We usually stay above 20F but occasionally drop to 10F. Good luck with your irrigation project.

Good volume
Works great on large runs Used in a commercial driveway for irrigated areas at a plumbing supply location

Great pump if you don’t need a “set-primer.”
All good—great pump so far! As my water source is below the intake of the pump, it’s always primed. It wouldn’t work for me if I had to prime the pump before each use as the instructions specify.

Durable water sprinkler pump
I brought this sprinkler water pump about 3 years ago (2022) and it’s still in great working condition. I have had no problems with this pump at all, great buy, as I had needed to replace other pumps after 2 years of use.

WISH I COULD GIVE 0 STARS....DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT OR COMPANY
I have used 'Wayne Pumps' for many years and have never had serious problems with them. Could always take to a local pump rebuilder for repairs or replacement parts. NOT WITH THIS PUMP!!! I purchased the pump in January 2018 for a sprinkler system. Previous pump was a Home Depot pump that lasted for a long time. The pump arrived and all seemed well...a simple installation to the well head and off we go....quiet and great pressure. Work faultlessly for about 4 months.....it locked up. A call to Wayne Water Systems and contact with Mr. Nate Detmer. Great guy....well spoken....courteous and great follow thru. Mr. Detmer requested information and it was supplied and a Warranty Return for Inspection Return Number was quickly received. Mr. Detmer did inform me that I was responsible for shipping charges for the pump to be returned for inspection. Should the pump failure be determined to be a manufacturing problem, it would be replaced. Okay...no problem.....yet. NO PROBLEM UNTIL I DETERMINED THAT THE SHIPPING COST WERE OVER $160.00 Goodness.....gracious.....$160.00 is approximately 68% of the cost of the pump. Since I was going to be out a 'few' buck for shipping, I decided to take the pump into a local repair shop that I have had a working relationship with for many years. My thoughts were if it were a simple issue, then I would simply pay for the cost out of pocket. The shop performed a basic 'look-see' and determined that the motor was 'history'...and nope they would not service the pump....something about off shore parts and incapability with replacement parts. No charge for the evaluation. It appears that the Wayne Pump of Today is not the Same Wayne Pump of Yesteryear. I know cost factors are important....but so is the quality of the product. It is simply not there any longer. It should be noted that when parts or items are sourced from off shore locations, that this informtion should be stated in the product descrption. This would allow the buyer to make a legitimate determination concerning the purchase. Okay...what to do....I have a pump that is under warranty (?) but I have to spend $160.00 to have it 'evaluated'. MMMM...what to do...what if Wayne Water Systems determines that the problem is not a 'manufacturing' problem....then I am out my pump....or spend another exorbitant amount of money for it to be returned. I decided to keep my $160.00 shipping cost and apply to another pump. I did purchase a replacement, an American made pump....national warranty...not shipping in for evaluation....can be serviced by local repair facilities...yep...I checked...no problem ...got parts right here if needed !!!!! Seems as if Wayne would 'out source' repair facilites as they do parts.....it might just make a difference. NO MORE WAYNE PUMPS for me. Also...do not think I shall purchase anything from Amazon that they do not warranty. May cost a bit more to purchase locally...but at least warranty issues are not as difficult. Just my $.02 worth. Since I have this non functioning almost new pump...I think I shall attempt to repair the unit....do not have anything to loose...if it works...I shall have a great 'emergency' pump...if it doesn't....I shall simply have a 'POS' pump....oppps...already have one of those.!! Recommendation....DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PUMP!!!! Yep, perhaps...I got a 'lemon'....and that could be....but what if you get a 'lemon' also.....how much is the shipping from your location to Wayne Pump in Harrison OH. Save the dollars and apply to the purchase of another brand....I have lost confidence in a product I once thought was #1. BUYER FOR WARNED....BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

Long life, and provided good service. Strong flow.
I bought this as a replacement for an 11 year old unit damaged by a lawn service company. I never had a problem with the original, and the dimensions/connections for this replacement unit made my replacement very easy. I suppose I'll have to wait to see how long this one lasts. :)

Three years - No problems
Read a lot of bad reviews and thought about sending it back. I had a Wayne pump years ago, that served me very well. I purchased this pump to replace my tired old pump, that I could no longer get parts for. I installed the pump my self and wired it for 240 volt and install a low pressure shut off switch , in case the ditch runs out of water it will shut the pump off. This is my third season with the pump and it has ran well with no problems. It will still pump the same volume of water as when installed. I have irrigation water delivered through a ditch system from the river. The water has a lot of silt and debris during spring run off and when it rains upstream. This puts extra wear on the pump. So I would say it has held up very well. I ordered a spare impeller from Wayne , just in case mine fails. It is easy to replace.

Used for transferring lake water to a well. Suction is approximately 10' above the suction intake and discharges through 1500 feet of 1.5 inch poly piping with approximately 25 ' in elevation gain. Initial prime took approx 40 seconds to start flowing water. Measured flow at discharge of the piping is 26.5 gpm. I have run the pump for over 5 hours in July and August and have no issues. The motor casing gets extremely hot, but the pump has not hit the thermal cutoff. I wired with 10AWG 3-wire to a 4 prong plug and run the pump off a 5000 watt Honda generator. Very pleased so far.
