A decent starter campaign for beginners on all sides of the table
As a first time DM, this module is decently written and structured well enough to allow a fairly fluid story line. Running P2 system, I've had to convert this entire module from P1 to P2. While this has been tedious as I've worked on coming to grips with accurate conversions, it's been very much worth it. Since learning what I need to do, I'm finding it more attractive to purchase P1 modules for conversion rather than the P2 modules which are limited in number which doesn't give a lot of creative freedom. I would recommend this module to anyone learning to run a game but does not have the requisite experience or time to build a campaign from the ground up.

The Module You've Been Waiting For!
This is a fantastic adventure for first level characters! The PCs can really get drawn in by getting to know the townspeople they help out, and eventually become their only hope!Plot twists abound! Keeping the story line quite interesting for a prewritten adventure that's "on rails." A wonderful dungeon(s) crawl setting! As a PC, I wouldn't recommend playing a cavalier. As the entire meat of the module is indoors or underground. And that would really limit this class's mount. (unless you're a small PC on a wolf or something, have at!)As a GM, be ready to look up some of the stats of the more basic monsters (this is common, so no reason to complain of a prewritten adventure). And they're all available free online too! Also, the experience given doesn't *quite* add up to where it expects you to level. (Even doing a fair amount of the optional stuff leaves you hanging at times) So I'd recommend using the chart giving the recommended levels for various parts of the module as the way to advance your party.Overall a great time is to be had with everyone involved with this adventure! Running it again starting this weekend!

Excellent module - highly recommended
My Pathfinder group lost its game master last year and I decided to step into the role. Starting off with a module was definitely a wise choice - it let me get comfortable with all aspects of running a game without having to come up with my own cohesive and interesting story. This module in particular was recommended to me as a great one to start with and having been through it, I agree. It's got a wonderful, well thought-out, and intricate story. You just have to absorb the story and find your own way to present it to the players. We'll actually be launching into the final battle next week! The module is very generous with XP in order to get the players to around level 7 so they can survive the final encounter. It's taken our group of four players nearly 5 months to get to this point, but we only play for one 3 hour session per week and we have a lot of table talk, so most groups will go faster.

Very good
First, the one negative - the final showdown area with the dragon felt a bit rushed. It's the only section that doesn't have intro sections. It's almost like the section was condensed to keep the module at 64 pgs. That said, the module is well put together and well thought out. There's a good mixture of traps and monsters and the monsters are practical to the adventure. I also like the fact that the author encourages more than your typical hack-n-slash romp. Players are rewarded for finding ways to avoid combat unless necessary. I also like the town layout and NPC descriptions. The adventure really allows a good DM/GM to put forward an enjoyable experience. All in all, I would rate this a 4.5, so rounding up for this review.

I'm using this adventure to start a new generation of table top gamers, and so far, they're loving the adventure. So far it's not overly complicated, but is still exciting, and has enough subtle hints for even inexperienced gamers to pick up on. My only beef is how some of it is laid out, but I think that is more my inexperience with gm'ing from a pre-packaged adventure vs a home brew. For instance the description and layout may be on one page, but the map and markers after the page turn.

Great for beginners
Campaign is going great! It is wonderful for beginners but if you are starting not knowing anything about how to make a character sheet or basic rules of the game (ex: combat or leveling up) make sure to do some research!

Nice collected adventure
A nice adventure, spanning a good spread of levels. If I was running it, I'd be adding in bits to customize it for my group and their characters, and I think an AP has more content, but this would be the first two books of an AP (judging by levels it handles) so it's a nice spread of levels, and good for what you get and what you pay.

First game adventure after a very long time away...
First adventure for my daughter, nephew, and cousin in the Pathfinder RPG. First RPG in 20+ years for me and my cousin and our kids. Fun adventure so far. Exploring, treasure, intrigue, investigating corrupted rich noblepersons, and a dragon. It also includes a big full color map. What more could one want?

Good module for a short campaign
A very well written PF module with a lot of background information also included along with a list of quests to keep the party on track. Currently running this and going well so far.
