My bedroom is always cold. In order to have it comfortable I have to boost the heat which makes the living room uncomfortably warm. I bought this unit for the heat and it works perfectly. Within a short period of time my bedroom is comfortable and I am more than pleased. The heat is adjustable and I find 70 degrees perfect.The cabinet is solid wood and well made. It's on wheels which makes it easy to move if needed. Packaging and Prime delivery were OUTSTANDING. There wasn't a mark on the unit...it was perfect. I placed the box on its side...opened the bottom and folded back the flaps...placed it upright and pulled the box up off the unit. Removed the packaging, plugged it in and that was that.Now the bonus! I have a beautiful fireplace! There are 5 different flame settings. Each of those has 5 settings for how fast the flames move and 5 more settings for how bright the flames are. All this can be controlled from the remote so without leaving my bed I can adjust everything. There is also a timer that goes from 30 minutes to 9 hours so I can set it and forget it! Fall asleep and it will turn itself off.To amuse myself further, I purchased an hour long music file of a crackling fireplace from Amazon music. Put a Bluetooth speaker on top of the fireplace mantle and had the fireplace sound to complete my happy little world.I cannot say enough nice things about this lovely fireplace!

Love it. Just the right size for my smaller living room and gives the room a nice ambiance and gives off just enough heat. It has numerous flames and a remote and temp control and runs very quietly. Don't know how much it's going to cost to run but it's a nice edition and looks great and I especially like that it's on wheels so I can move it by myself when I want to rearrange my furniture. I also liked that it was all assembled and just rolled it out of the box. Took my daughter and me about 10 minutes to get it out of the box and into the house. Am very happy with this fireplace.

I purchased this portable electric fireplace primarily to extend the use of our three season sunporch.As previously noted by others, the flame effects, logs and ember bed are much more realistic than many other electric fireplaces. That the fireplace comes fully assembled and well packed by the manufacturer makes set up quick and easy.Pros: Quality piece of furniture, fully assembled, easily moved on casters (which lock), nice flame effect options, warms my sunporch quickly.Cons: The motor which turns the flame effect spinner is noisy. To the credit of Twin Star, their customer service was prompt in sending out a replacement spinner motor (which is basically a plug and play item which took about a half hour to replace).The downside is that the replacement motor was equally as noisy. If one remembers the sound of the motors used for Christmas tree color wheels of the 60's, you'll have a good idea of the type of sound this motor makes.I believe this is because the spinner rod (which creates the flame effects) does not sit entirely level, and is just out of balance enough to create the noise at the same point in the rotation of the rod. Unfortunately, there is no adjustment available for leveling the rod or moving the motor mount.That said, it is more of a minor annoyance if only the flame effect is turned on. If one uses the heat feature, the fan noise for the blower pretty much cancels out the spinner motor noise.**Update** It is mid-November of 2017, and I have to say that I still love this rolling fireplace. It seems we've skipped the autumn, and went directly from summer to winter where I live... so it's been so nice to have this for extending the use of our three-season sun porch. One of my favorite purchases... and a lot of interesting fire variation options makes it fun, too!

I now have 3 of these electric fireplaces in my house. I live in a very old and very cold drafty house that has tons of single pane doors and windows. If I run my central heater, I heat every room in the house, but since I live alone in a horse-shoe type layout of a home, it’s wasting a lot of energy. Now, I can heat just the rooms I’m spending time in, without the huge electric bills. This is a really good unit. It’s on castors, so you can roll it around. It’s really pretty wood. The flame features different settings and it heats my office very quickly. It has a remote control, which has a secret storage spot on the top left side of the fireplace, so you never need to worry about losing your remote. I’m very happy with this purchase.

See Update below original review:I just got my beautiful fireplace today. I love the color options, the timer, and how it works. I turned it on and set the temp at 70. It isn't too cold yet here but it got my room up to temp then turned off. It started right back up with the temp dropped. Only thing is there is a tiny speck of foam that got inside and stuck to glass but that is minor issue. Note there is no back to unit. It is open for air flow etc. Beautiful wood and flames. Can't wait to enjoy this winter. *** cat approved hehe** Extra note: check for price changes. I bought it last week at $197 then price went up to 350 this week. Glad I got it at the right time. Definitly worth the money though.Update: I bought this nov 2016 and got the 2 year warranty. Apparently the warranty starts the day you buy it not when you receive it. Took longer to receive item. Just barely 2 years from purchase date and it stopped working last week. I called amazon and was told its only covered 30 to 60 days. Says warranty wont cover it not working at 2 years. Even though I haven't had it a full 2 years but the date I bought it is just over 2 years. Regardless they wont help troubleshoot it either to determine why it isn't working. So basically I spent all this money of a fireplace only to get 2 years out of it now its junk. Dont waste your time. It looks nice but wont last
