Most Repeatable Process in Construction... work management
I have been a big fan of this book for over a year and am using it to advance knowledge of Lean Construction in our company, especially setting up what I find the most powerful tool: Last Planner System (tm) against our most repeatable process: PM-CM work management. This summer I expect the opportunity take a number of leaders of projects through study-action, engulfing the first seven chapters (200 pp) of this book with company teachings on The Toyota Way and making use of AGC LCEP: Lean Construction Education Program offerings, in short sessions as follows:* Need for new approaches to construction (tied to Ch1)* Transition from productivity measurement to process improvement (tied to Ch2)* AGC Lean construction 101 (tied with Ch3) possibly AGC LCEP Module 1 & 2 workshop(s)* Last Planner System(tm) (tied with Ch4)* The Toyota Way 14-Principles and lean tools in construction projects (tied with Ch5)* Lean Construction Applications and four Case Studies (Ch6)* IPD contract "teaming" with case studies (tied with Ch7)I want to thank the authors for enabling this knowledge growth in my company. Other credits: Last Planner System is a trademark and body of work from the Lean Construction Institute; LCEP is a product of The Associated General Contractors of America.;The Toyota Way is authored by Dr. Jeffrey K. Liker and published by McGraw-Hill.

Good book to have if you are in the AEC industry.
This book consolidates lots of information pertaining to TQM, ISO-9000, Lean construction, IPD and Sustainability (LEED). It explains the hurdles one encounters when moving from a traditional approach, design-bid-build (DBB)to more of the progressive approaches mentioned above as well as history related to the quality movement. Dr. Forbes is currently teaching a Quality Controls System I am taking and having his expansive knowledge, along with this book (it was not mandatory to buy) and another book has enabled me to get my feet wet in the world of total quality aspects. I would imagine this would be a good source to own if you are thinking of moving in a new direction to avoid issues that plague DBB.

Good text on Lean/IPD
Good text on Lean/IPD, I had the pleasure of having Dr. Forbes as a professor and he is a great instructor. The text is truly tailored to construction and Dr. Forbes wrote it as he could not find a text that was focused on construction. The text would be a great addition to both the construction professional/student and the industrial engineer.

The book condition is not so good. It has been rental book before ship to me. But the content inside book is contemporary.
-The content inside book is good and contemporary. I really love the content. But The book condition is not so reasonable commpare with the price 96 USD. Now I request Amazon manager to discount the price to be 48 USD. (50% discount). I really need this book even it is not good condition. Outstanding delivery service.
Arrived a whole week before time. I’m truly amazed for the price that I paid. This book is perfect. The only difference is the soft cover and the quality of the paper. It did make that crystal clear when I was buying it so I wasn’t turned off anything. I got what I paid for.
