Good for beginners
Just got into wood carving. This is a nice tool set to get started with. I still have a lot to learn but this tool set has been a great cheap way for me to get started.

1st time whittling and these seem good
I picked these because they looked good for the price. I don't really know what im doing but they seemed to cut pretty well. after some use i ran a few of them on the little stone that came with it and they very quickly became sharp enough to draw blood, ask me how I know.

Uncertain about Quality
I'm not sure if it's because I'm a true beginner in woodcarving, but I could not get these knives to work as I'd hoped, even in a wood specifically made for easy carving, following the grain, etc.The amount of force I needed to get them to do anything honestly felt a bit dangerous, as it could easily slip and cut my hands. At least one of them chipped, and I put them away, haven't gotten them out again since - I really can't tell if there's anything I could have done better with them, but my perception is that a beginner would have an easier time with some higher quality tools, as learning with these was really frustrating.

Great value !!
Very impressed by the quality of this set of Carvers, first off they are very very sharp right out of the box which made it very easy to use them. I'm not a professional just a hobbyist but still have to have good tools that last. I've only been using these for about 2months now but there just as sharp today as they were the day I received them, they feel very good in the hand and because they are so sharp glide through the wood. You actually have to be careful you don't dig too deep or gouge your piece.

Good tools for a low price
For the price, these carving tools handle pretty well. So far most of the tools I've used from this set retain their edge pretty well. The handles of the tools also feel pretty good in hand. If you are new to wood carving, I would highly suggest this set rather than paying for one of those 100 dollar sets.
