A Lifesaver for Our Cat – Works Wonders!
We bought the Vicks Warm Steam Vaporizer, and it has been a total game-changer, especially for our cat. We noticed she was having some trouble breathing, and after trying a few different things, we decided to try this vaporizer to help with her congestion.Performance:The vaporizer works perfectly. It quickly fills the room with warm, soothing steam, and we noticed an improvement in our cat’s breathing almost immediately. It’s so comforting to know she can get some relief while we take care of her in other ways. The warm steam seems to make the air much easier for her to breathe, especially during the colder months when dry air makes things worse.Ease of Use:This vaporizer is incredibly easy to set up and use. It’s quiet, and you can leave it on overnight for continuous relief. The design is simple, and refilling it is a breeze.Benefits:It’s been a great way to ensure our cat stays comfortable, especially with the added moisture in the air. Since using this vaporizer, she’s been able to rest better, and it’s definitely helped her recover faster. We’ve also noticed it’s been beneficial for the whole family – we all breathe better when it’s running.Overall:If you have a pet or anyone in the house who’s dealing with breathing issues, I highly recommend this vaporizer. It’s gentle yet effective, and it’s been a perfect addition to our home, especially for our cat. Very happy with this purchase!

Nice and steamy
This is definitely worth the purchase! I use this in my room to keep it nice and humid. This feels great for my respiratory system as well as my skin. Also cheaper than purchasing it at the store.

WELL WORTH IT - THE REAL OLD FASHION STEAMER
WOW This works just like grandma's ols vaporizer when I was a sick kid. REAL STEAM !! Takes about 20 minutes to start producing steam, but it is worth it. Add a little Vicks to the top cup and inhale.

Nice basic unit, but unusable with AFCI
I love that this is just a basic, no frills humidifier. Unfortunately, after 45 minutes it tripped my AFCI (arc fault circuit interrupter) breaker. So I am unable to use this.

Beats all alternatives.
Swamp type humidifiers never heat the water and are prone to dumping bacteria and mold into the air. Plus, the filter/wick tend to be expensive and need replacement fairly often.Ultrasonic humidifiers are also prone to dumping bacteria and mold into the air. But they're far worse because they dump all water minerals into the air. A hard working ultrasonic humidifier will coat the entire room, if not the whole house, with a powdery layer of minerals everywhere. This is especially not good for any electronics, let alone breathing in all that stuff. As bad as a swamp humidifier is, ultrasonics are even worse for both your electronics, and your lungs.Boiler type of humidifiers kill any and all bacteria and mold by boiling them. It also does not put any minerals into the air. But the process is rather energy intensive. So this humidifier tends to use a lot of electricity. It's also very noisy. And, of course, there is a small chance of getting burned by the hot mist, if you're extremely not careful. And then there is the matter of this particular type of humidifier relying on the amount of minerals in the water to conduct electricity. Thus, the rate of vaporization depends on the mineral content - the more minerals in the water, the faster it vaporizes. This is both good and bad. It's good that you can increase the rate by not rinsing out the reservoir. It's bad because the reservoir can run out within just a few hours. This is why I took a 5 gallon bucket and shaped a torus out of thick styrofoam to fit it. I ditched the reservoir and inserted this humidifier into the torus. Now it floats on top of the water in the bucket. Now I have a 5 gallon reservoir that will last many hours. I still need to add water - but only about once a day... maybe a bit more often on really dry days. It's still noisy and uses a lot of electricity. And it only lasts about one winter. So I buy a new one every year. The bucket and the stryofoam has lasted many years. The point being, I can now dump over 5 gallons of water into the air every day with minimal maintenance. And buying a new one of these humidifiers every year is roughly the equivalent of a new filter for a swamp humidifier - or less. Often much, much less. And the humidity is bacteria, virus, mold, and mineral free - just how I like the air I breathe. All while having to add nothing to the water. And I'm not having to dust my entire house every few days.I keep looking, but comparable hot steam systems seem to cost over $200 - sometimes WELL over $200. And their electricity costs are probably about the same. So this "redneck 5 gal. humidifier" I made only costs less than $20 per year (so far). Comparable systems would have to last over 10 years to justify their costs over this simple humidifier.

The only humidifier I get!
This is the best hot humidifier in my opinion! I get one every year I don’t even care they only last a year. I use sink water and it has never ruined it! I’ve used so many other humidifiers that tap water creates a buildup and ruins it eventually. I don’t have daily purified bottled water kind of money in this economy! So this unit is the best in my opinion! It’s durable! It lasts for hours and a lot of humidity/steam comes out!

This thing is Awesome!! Instant relief from dry air, Just Buy It
If you made it this far just buy it. Probably the least expensive humidifier/vaporizer on Amazon and it works the best. I should have known, Vicks has been around a long time.I went through the cool mist humidifiers with fancy remotes, phone apps, ALL were useless, they could not even raise the humidity in a small bedroom. This is as simple and functional as it gets. I filled the tank with tap water, a pinch of salt and plugged it in, within 15 seconds it was putting out a soothing warm mist. Took my living room from 32% humidity to 58% in about 20 minutes. After a few hours my skin is not as dry and nose and throat are not dry anymore.Personally, I love the simplicity just fill the tank and plug it in. There are NO timers, settings, fancy lighting, remote controls, buttons or phone apps. I mean seriously, does a vaporizer need a friggn phone app. lolWorth every penny can not believe you can get this thing shipped to your door in one day for under 20 dollars.EDIT: By the way, the black flakes in the tank some people are complaining of are there as a feature. It is actually the minerals from the water you add. The heater boils them and deposits them into the tank so they do not blow into the air with the mist. This prevents white dust or mineral deposits like many of the cool mist humidifiers cause. Great feature
