The magnet worked perfectly to retrieve an ice auger from the bottom of the lake.

It's not neodymium but it's good.

Bought this for my nephew after looking at descriptions of other magnets on Amazon. This one had good ratings for the price. Needed it to pick up nails in grassy area and in dirt and debris after taking off an old roof. Magnet easily found and picked up nails we couldn't see. VIP because we didn't want my horse to step on a nail. Tiny items aren't real easy to pull off this magnet. We resolved this by using a peanut butter lid. The magnet is so strong it still picks up items and we release them by pulling off the cap. No kidding, pleased with this magnet and may likely buy another one for me.

I purchased this to hang heavy items off my firearm safe, specifically, my plate armor vest. This will certainly hold this and frankly much heavier items. You cannot just pull this off, you must slide it off the edge. Very satisfied with purchase. Seller shipped quickly. The rated pull weight is for horizontal installation so it is close to edge on the top of my safe. Be advised that even though you still can't pull it off in the vertical position, it will slide down if item is very heavy. In the vertical position, it will still hold far more than a lesser magnet.

This did not magnetize anything. We put it in the water and it did not pull anything up. So I put it up against a metal tank and it slid off. We put a metal knife to it and it did not work. This was not worth the money that we spent .No strength, quality was bad, power was bad.. over all product was horrible.

Held up three different smaller insulated weights 3, 3, and 5 respectively. Insulated items can shake off- recommend care during that type of experiment. Stuck to only metal items very strongly; had to maneuver to remove but doable. Overall our interest is piqued and looking forward to future uses.

The advertised claim is "can pull up to 1000 lbs under ideal conditions". Apparently, an iron manhole cover is not "ideal conditions". I expect it will work fine for "fishing", but I bought this to help lift a sewer manhole. It will not hold it and slide it off at the same time. If I lift slowly, it will come up, but it will not move it laterally. Oh well, I'll figure something out. Don't bother purchasing it if you intend to use it for anything other than fishing for metal trinkets in a pond.
