I'm always a little leery of using aftermarket parts to repair things, but I took the chance on this left joy-con rail for a beat up old launch Switch I acquired and it worked out great. The new part fit perfectly and works just as well as the original. I can play in handheld mode now without the joy-con detaching. The hardest part about the repair on this part is removing the old one, the screws that hold it to the body are super tight. I stripped one even with the correct tools and had to drill it out. Just a heads up for anyone attempting this repair themselves. Make sure you buy the specialized screwdrivers you need for the Switch screws, and the little plastic spudger tool that comes with most Switch repair kits definitely comes in handy for properly seating the delicate ribbon cable back into the Switch's main board.

Well, I drop my mate's Switch just once. It happens but it just had to be in the toilet. A few ricochets, a splash with a few F-bombs later and I'm tasked with a problem solving trial of why the left joycon was not charging, synching or being detected when connected to the console display. They were kind of a pain to install, and the ribbon cables had to be folded somewhat to get it to seat properly. But hey, my Switch works fine now which is what I was after. Before this it wasn't registering my left Joycon that well, but this rail works like it's fresh from Nintendo.

Easy fix. It’s been about 6 months and no problems.

Old rail was corroded on the joycon connection side - I bought this, opened the back, removed the rails, disconnected the battery and then replaced. Works like a charm and a perfect fit. Definitely recommend! Fixed my joycon detection issue

Had a problem with joycon disconnecting while attached to switch. These fixed it. Not the easiest to install. Disassembling the switch requires special security, and tiny bits. Ribbon cables are challenging to get in place. After careful work, good as new
