Some Technical Details on these hinges
Had to order a bag to see if these would work for me, since description is a bit short on engineering info.The product image is accurate, showing these hinges at their "relaxed" state. The spring resists when you try to bring the leaves together so they're parallel and on the same side of the pin. To me, that makes them "self opening" but depending on your application that could mean "self closing".The holes are 35mm on centers (just under 1 3/8"), 5mm diameter (0.196"), and the countersink is right at 0.25" which means they're sized for a #4 flathead screw. Larger screws will go in the hole, but because of the countersink size, the head will stick up. When the hinge is closed all the way (maximum resistance), the heads of opposing leafs will then hit each other and prevent full closure. You could always drill out the countersink...but if you have more than a few to do, that gets tedious.I placed these on a kitchen scale and held them closed with a finger at the leaf edge, measuring between 2.5 lbs and 3.25 lbs for the set of four. Since the leafs are 3/4" wide that works out to about a 2.5 in-lb. torque rating at 360*.

They work, but not the way you think they will
In the closed position, the leaves of the hinge are at 90 degrees to one another, i.e., one leaf attached to the inside face of the door frame, the other to the face or the door. The springs are not very powerful. That said, they worked OK for my application, but I'm going to guess most people won't be satisfied.

Reasonably made but completely misleading - these are self-opening hinges, not self-closing
These don't seem to be badly made. BUT, I need self-closing hinges, and what was supplied to me were not self-closing, but self-opening hinges. You can even see it in the photographs of the item, where the hinges are open, by force of the springs. That's fine if that's what you want, but good grief, let's get the description accurate! :-(
