E-flite FieldMate Pro Electric Field Box EFLA180 Air Field Equip & Electronics

Nice field box, suits my needs well. Mine was well built and glue joints were strong, and arrived in perfect condition.

I printed out all the flight boxes that I could find online and compared them. The E-Flite had everything I needed. Reading the reviews that complained about the build quality and wood, I unpacked it carefully so I could return it if it appeared to be poorly built or flimsy. It looks well-built and I have no complaints. One minor problem was that the large drawer was difficult to open, the magnet held it very tight. I took a file to the metal piece on the back of the drawer - fixed that! If it gets run over by a truck I'll buy another!

This is exactly what i was looking for. The old school field box from my youth. Build well and looks amazing, this field box is more than I could hope for. Magnetic holds on the drawers for security in travel and enough room for all I need on the runway. Worth every penny!!

I would also like it if the sliding tray had some sort of anchor to hold it in place when not extended as well as some kind of stop to keep from pulling it all the way out of the box as noted in other reviews. One other thing I would have liked to have seen was a bigger hole between the charger platform and the large side space (designed for a battery to run your chargers). My field has electric outlets at the various tables and I typically just plug my charger in there. The small hole doesn't really let me route my A/C cord up to the charger (I would just like to keep it in that compartment and open the door to get it to plug in). I didn't give it 5 starts as there was some slight damage to the field box when it arrived. The battery dividers as well as the back of the charger tray were not attached to the field box but banging around in the box. It was obvious after looking at it that the glue they used to secure the pieces wasn't sufficient. It was a simple fix to superglue the pieces back in place, so I didn't bother contacting the seller.

The box is very nicely designed with lot of compartments. I had read several reviews both on Amazon, and other sites, therefore I was thankful when my box came out of the shipping container in one piece. That said, when I pulled the first drawer open the face came off. The same for the second drawer. The third drawer came out intact. My two defective drawers are now re-glued and waiting for the epoxy to set. I suppose I could have copied the design and built the box myself, but I choose to order instead--time and effort. After reading other reviews I was not caught off guard with the poor workmanship. That said, I would have been happier had they just sent me the cut pieces, and let me glue the whole box together. I would then be sure all of the glue joints are solid. I gave this box 3 stars because of the great design--otherwise it would have just one. I have not been able to discover if this box was made in America, but if it was some American ought to be ashamed of themselves.

It would have been nice if the battery charging tray would of had stops on it.

Absolute garbage. Put a few tools, charger and spare a123 battery packs, and it came apart.
