A favorite for use in very tight curls. We apply to wet hair that's already had some leave-in conditioner applied for ease of brushing. The curl stretch pudding helps to keep the curls from getting frizzy, and allows them to stretch out a bit more. Once dry, curls will tighten back up a bit, but leaves the overall curly look very nice, not frizzy.

I have a lot of SheaMoisture products for my natural hair and I had high hopes for this stretching pudding. Due to my hair shrinks 85%. Well, it didn't elongate my curls and still had the 85% shrinkage however it did moisturize my hair which also tends to be on the dry scale. I gave this product 4 stars because it didn't elongate or decrease any shrinkage. But it is thick with some slip, IMO it didn't detangle as much as I hoped. But the smell is odd but not overpowering and it did leave my hair with a sticky feeling all though it went on with a white film but dries without residue being visible. Handling the hair pudding is indeed thick and rubbing the pudding between your hands it does not melt so it is very very concentrated which I think makes it difficult to soak into the hair. Little goes a long way and I have thick hair. The price is OK maybe a little inflated but I tend to be frugal. Would I buy the product again? No because it didn't do as it read it would do in terms of eliminating hair shrinkage

I have extremely coarse, tightly coiled hair with significant shrinkage. Recently having been introduced to my own hair due tO COVID-19, decades of braiding my hair unfortunately, although culturally beautiful my hair was starving for moisture/care. But, seemingly my hard to manage, hard to absorb and maintain moisture, with the tightest of coiled strands just might of met its match with this product. The product did exactly what the instructions said it would do by first lengthening my natural hair and visibly relaxing my “kinky” curls. I’m already saying I’m prepared to order two more and just might give wearing my natural hair at least for awhile a shot!

This product is phenomenal for certain hair types. Personally I did not have the success (tried it twice in my hair - African American) I was looking for so my friend tried it out and BANG - BANG her hair looks and feels fabulous!! She is Mexican and has long natural curls that most people pay hundreds for at a beauty parlor. All and all she absolutely loves it and the difference is very noticable in terms of texture and look of her curls! It definitely gets 5 stars!

I purchased this product in October and I’m using it for the second time today. I noticed a yellow tint today, so I stirred into it more. What is the real color supposed to be? The outer layer is creme colored and appears to be a bit more lightweight. This makes me wonder if I was sent something old.I don’t know whether to keep stirring it or throw it out.

I love Shea products. I have 2c to 3a natural hair. It’s wavy and fine yet coarse. I wearit in twists. It looks great the day after washing but graduallyshrink through the week. I wanted a way to stretch them out so I don’t have to wash my hair just to fluff out the twists. The pudding is thick and not greasy! It holds twists and keeps them stretched day after day. This is designed for 3 and 4 hair types- and I see why.I sacrifice fluffy twists for enlogated twists. It works!

Left hair soft, moisturized, and manageable. My hair is very short, but it did elongate my small curls. This product has the consistency of soft butter, so you need to work it through you hair really well. I used my fingers. The only thing I didn't like was the smell. It didn't really have a smell. The fragrance was very bland. I like a little fragrance in my hair products. Other than that I have no complaints. Also, it left my hair shiny and soft to the touch.
