Nice bright purple
Caron Simply Soft (CSS) in Grape colorway is a nice bright yarn that pairs brilliantly with the Iris colorway, which is a very bright darker purple. They provide very good light/dark contrast for each other and work well with White as a complementary neutral.CSS is thinner than worsted but thicker than sport weight yarn. For knitting it is absolutely delightful, but for crochet it takes some finesse. The yarn has no elasticity at all, so I find that I have to use multiple hook sizes depending on the stitch I am making - sometimes two hooks in a single stitch - to maintain consistent tension appearance and avoid large holes at the tops of stitches. The direction of the twist is ideal for knitting, so the 4 strands frequently untwist as I am crocheting and I have to take care not to split them or accidentally catch my hook on just 1. It can get properly tangled, but it's easy to untangle because it has a very "slippy" kind of texture; a quality which requires that every stitch be worked through at least two loops to avoid the final fabric developing huge holes and tight knots at the top of your stitches, so I have adjusted my procedure for when a pattern calls for FLO or BLO. Your finished fabric will feel nice almost no matter what you do with it, but you will need to adjust your hook size if you are making stitches with largely varying sizes becausd you cannot adjust enough just by holding the yarn tighter (trust me on this one, save your hands the pain.)Overall I still really like CSS, and have none of these problems at all when knitting with it, but I just don't recommend it for absolute beginner crocheters. It can definitely be problematic to work with if you are not prepared to face the challenges it presents.10/10 drape quality for this stuff though. Imitates silk blend yarns I have used pretty well.

Very nice yarn but expensive
As a big fan of Caron simply soft,I was unable to get this color in shops so got it from amazon. As usual the yarn is very soft and works perfect for my project. I purchased two skein of this yarn for $3.99 each, the rate was reasonable although I can get Caron yarns for $2.99 in nearby shops .But when I wished to purchase it again in amazon its rate is changed to a $7.20 no idea why it changed but its expensive now. planning to get more when the price drops.Anyways great yarn and vibrant color .

Meh!
I needed this to finish a project. The product that arrived was as expected -- no worries there. I'm not a huge fan of the product itself, as I find that it splits annoyingly often.

Easy to work with for this Beginner
I am truly pleased with this yarn. I have only been crocheting a very little while. I find this yarn so easy to work with. It easily glides thru loops, which makes it easier with learning. I have chosen it because of it feeling soft to make vests with. I do not like the scratchy feeling of most yarns.

Wow! Definitely bright :) Kinda splits though :(
This is very bright yarn, moreso than I thought, but I like it. It's definitely prone to splitting, which may not be as big a problem with crochet as w/ knitting, but it's still a little bit of a problem. If I catch a stitch from the previous row the wrong way, I have a strand sticking out. I've gotten the hang of *not* catching a stitch like that, but I think it shouldn't be happening. Really soft and yummy to work with and to wear. It's a very light weight worsted though; the recommended hook is an H (5.0mm). Compare that to a recommeded I hook for Red Heart Soft, and a J hook for the Red Heart Super Saver yarn. So if you want something that drapes well, this is great, but I'm not sure how well it would stand up to frequent use, like a kid's blanket. I may be wrong about that, though. I'm making a light weight lapghan right now for an adult (me), and I'll try to remember to update after a few washes.

Wonderful colors
I am using several bright colors to make scarves for charity. I love working with them. I particularly like Watermelon and Yellow. Have also used the bright blue. The colors combine well for nice stripes as well as solid colors. They flow off my needles well and they look great. I sometimes combine with other Caron Soft yarn that has bright colors. The yarn tends to split a little but for what I am doing it is no problem. The price is right so I can make a lot of scarves without spending a fortune.

The color was spot on!
I ran out of yarn in a project, specifically this grape color. I started this project over two years ago. I went to Joanns and they didn’t have this color at all, so I took a chance and ordered through Amazon and not only got it the next day (and with free delivery) the color was an exact match. I thought that since they were made in different batches that there might have been slightly off color but there was no difference in the shade I ordered versus the one I had.

Great Yarn, Beautiful Colors
This is one of my favorite yarns to knit with. It's smooth and silky looking and there is a great variety of colors. They yarn works up well and so knitted items look great when finished. I find it harder to crochet with though, Maybe it's just me or not the right crochet hook but I have a bit of trouble with it splitting if I am not careful and it slows my crochet speed down . Anyway It works up into a beautiful finished project. When shops were closed it was wonderful to be able to buy this yarn at Amazon.
