Yes!! Envelope measures 4 1/8 x 9 1/2 so it is designed to mail 8.5 x11 paper folded in thirds. In addition, it is a high quality 24lb paper envelope so it won't be flimsy with one sheet of paper and susceptible to loss.

The paper is good quality and not flimsy and see through. I wouldn't call it really thick, but it's a good quality envelope.

I would have to disagree with the other post - the piece that you pull off is a treated paper. This makes it not stick to the seal until you are ready to utilize and seal the envelope. It would not be considered plastic, however. It is a treated paper that is slick on one side. Hope this helps!
