The basics and more about home purchase in USA
The book is easy to read. No fancy words, is well organized and has good tips and links. It doesn’t have samples a closing statement, an appraisal. Etc. It falls short of complementing each chapter with graphics. For $5.99 or less is fair but overpriced for $9.99.

Great book for ANYONE who wants to buy a home
I know this book is intended for first-time home buyers, but the information in it is extremely valuable for any home buyer today. It is written in an easy tone and explodes much of the misinformation and the many myths that surround buying a home. Here in California, we do not close the sale at the "closing table", but all of the items mentioned in this book apply to the California closing process which is done through the escrow company, The buyer and seller are not face-to-face. In California, after all documents are signed by all parties, the final walk-through is done and all monies are in from the buyer and the lender, escrow informs the title company to record the ownership change. That is done the next day at the County office and your Realtor gives you the keys that afternoon. Also valuable in this book are all of the tips to master your move. I am recommending it to all of my friends who are thinking about this.

Must read!
First time home buyers, my wife and I were nervous, anxious, and scared. This book and amazing family and friends were perfect compliments to each other. Truly believe that you should research absolutely everything and this book was a must read to the process.

Poor Quality Control (Left Pages)
I was excited to receive this book, only to discover that every left hand page has a white stripe down the middle of the page (approximately four letters width) that breaks up words and, in some places, makes the words (and sentences) undecipherable. Example: "a rea ate blogger" appears on page 8 instead of "a real estate blogger". Reading should not be a guessing game, plain and simple. Some might make a fun, whimsical game out of reading the version I received but I'm not one of those people.

As a homeowner, it was invaluable
I've long heard that buying a home will probably be the biggest financial transaction of your life, so to me, it's a no brainer to read up to make sure I'm doing it right. And this first-time home buyer guide covers all the bases. I love how it breaks down even the most complex financial topics into bite-size pieces that anyone can understand. It even coaches you on what to say—and not say—when buying a home, since it can jeopardize your leverage in the real estate negotiation process. I also love that this book has a glossary so I can look up anything I don't understand. It's also incredibly well researched, providing some eye-opening reality checks on who's buying a home. For instance, it was interesting to know that the average first-time home buyer is 32 years old and make an average of $75,000 per year. Thorough, helpful, entertaining, you can't ask more from a book about home buying!
