A Powerful Guide to Personal and Professional Development
So wonderfully written that it works as a beach book! This will guide me for the rest of my career. Terrific information, great advice, and chock full of simple, practical, and eminently doable best practices. I can't wait to adopt this coming school year. This book stands on its own as some of the best professional development this veteran teacher has had.

A "must read" for every educational professional.
Dr. Jenning’s book, “Mindfulness for Teachers,” provides the framework for a new kind of teacher development which increases our focus from content and pedagogy to include personal development, self-knowledge, and mindfulness. She artfully makes the case for mindfulness in education by citing research that shows how mindfulness can impact the effectiveness of teachers and, in turn, the performance of their students. Later she makes the research come alive by showing its application in the classroom via anecdotes and stories that she’s accumulated over her many years as an educator. Her final contribution is to provide a variety of practices and resources that allow teachers to take the concepts in the book and make them real.Teaching is a complex activity that is most successful when there is a positive trust relationship between teacher and student. Dr. Jennings lays out the path to creating a classroom environment built on respect and dignity; one that inspires both teacher and student to perform at their best. “Mindfulness for Teachers” is a book that expands the conversation about good teaching and is a ‘must read’ for every educational professional.

Excellent
I'm new to mindfulness but have taught for 16 years. I've read hundreds of educational books and this one is among my favorites. It has changed the way I react to challenges and how I respond to students in order to maintain a calm, respectful environment.

Decent
If you're unfamiliar with mindfulness this is a good read for basics and had decent tips for using mindfulness for students but the focus was more of helping the teacher have a mindful practice

Nothing new
The information in here wasn't anything I didn't already know; most seemed like common sense. In the authors' defense, this book might not have been right for my situation: I am limited by an environment that makes this crucial but impossible.

More theory, less practice
I was disappointed as the book does not contain "simple skills" as promised. I find a lot of theoretical information on psychology from (probably) various sources. I expected "practical exercises" that teachers can use in their classrooms. I find a few exercises towards the end of the book, but I think that is not at all sufficient.

absolutely recommandable
Patricia A. Jennings knows what she's speaking about; it can clearly be seen, she is a teacher with lots of experience. She knows the beauty as well as the difficulties in school. Underlain by lots of studies, she explains scientific researches and shows concrete pathways in order to become a still presenter and even more mindful teacher + how to bring mindfulness to kids. This is a really helpful book for all teachers and educators interested in Mindfulness. I hope it will soon stand in each school library for teachers,
