Hi , The Seiko Mecha-quartz we use has a centre second hand that moves in 1/4 second increments just like mechanical movement . its powered by a battery that needs to be replaced every 2 years . basically you are getting the look and feel of an automatic timepiece without the high cost of maintenance .
