I'm the cool uncle again!!!!
The media could not be loaded. I previously owned another mini LED Projector (see pictures) and I thought it was the best... Until I started seeing more and more of my friends buy them and I could tell the quality differences. In a short time, it developed a "burn" spot in the lens that would show only after the device got warmer. I lived with that until my nieces and nephews came over to watch Halloween movies (I'm the cool uncle with a movie theater). The uninvited dark spot grew and grew and I could feel the uncomfortable feeling of my cool credibility slipping away until the 5-year-old blurts out "What is wrong with your movie, it's not as good as mommys". I take being the cool uncle really serious, that was my line... I had let them down and no amount of popcorn was going to fix that dark spot on my reputation! So I called a few friends, which in turn mentioned a few brands on Amazon so I looked one up and found it be cheaper than the previous one I bought, which I am normally very wary of. It took me a min to find it, not sure why this is on the 3rd page of the searches it is rare that I get that far back. Here is what I have learned. Affordable doesn't always translate into Cheap.Pros:- Sound quality is 100% better. watch the clip I provided, I didn't even hook up the sound system in the first movie. It has a surround sound option in the menu and surprisingly it works well in my small living room- I have a 100" inch projector screen and unlike the other projector, I had to reduce the image size to 85% so it would fit on the screen.- The image is bright and very clear for movies- The projector is about 25% smaller and much easier to set up and very mobile- The projector packaging was really well thought out and very secureCons: I didn't take any stars away because the original product page addressed these before I bought or they are at no fault to the brand or product- The Amazon-branded box that the projector box cam in was severely under packed. 3 small pieces of paper were meant to hold the product box.. see the paper next to the 1st photo. (projector was not damaged)- This projector does not contain the 4 little screw points on the bottom so I can attach my ceiling mounted stand. (like I said not the brand's fault that they could not match every mount)- not for small print or great detail in a font. the detail just isn't fine enough for that. (which is clearly mentioned on the product page)I hope my review will help you make a choice. I'm happy with mine.

Frustrating
I had always wanted one of these mini projectors but the typical cost was usually prohibitive until I came across this one in a year-end sale on Amazon. However, my excitement over it faded pretty quickly when I went to use it for the first time. The "owners manual" is a tiny little pamphlet with poorly written instructions. For example, it will tell you to do this and do that using the menu, "then press okay". Problem is, there is no "okay" button. I also mistakenly thought that I could simply use my iPhone's USB charging cord to plug into the projector and display photos that are on my phone. WRONG. The USB port only works with flash drives. In order to display your iPhone photos with the projector, you need a special converter and an HDMI cord. The projector comes with the HDMI cord but I had to swing by Best Buy to purchase a converter...which was over $50. Even with all the right equipment, figuring out how the menu and sub-menu buttons work was a lengthy and frustrating process. Somehow I finally figured it out, only to find the quality of the photos (how they display vs. the original photo itself) was really bad. Think of it as if your original photo was in HD but when it is displayed thru the projector, it's like looking at it on an old fashioned non-HD television, or like the comparison between a photo taken with a 20 megapixel camera vs. a 2 megapixel camera. I have no idea why that would be, but it was very disappointing since I was proud of my original photos which were pretty high quality. On a happier note, some of the items I displayed from my phone were short video clips I had recorded. They played just fine and the sound heard thru the projector's own speaker wasn't bad. Would I recommend this item or buy it again? Considering the ridiculously cheap price I paid, I would probably say yes in spite of all the issues I mention above. If I had paid hundreds of dollars for the projector it would've been a different story and I would probably return it.Oh, by the way, the remote control that came with the projector was DOA from the get-go. I put brand new batteries in it (which do NOT come with the projector...you have to supply your own) but it doesn't work.

Great Little Projector
I bought this projector after ordering 3 different ones. Yes.......I spent a bunch to know if this projector performs as described. I found the following with this projector: remote works well and is well organized around the button positions and use, the button scheme on the projector is also well organized.I like that a "user" setting can be manually adjusted for color, brightness, contrast etc. The pre-programed settings work well, however. I like that the brightness and contrast have been improved and I was surprised by the clarity of text at native resolution of 800x480. I really liked the color rendering as it was very accurate and saturation was good at most levels. Overall, the style and look of the machine is very nicely presented........I would suggest a "fingerprint" reducing surface condition would be best for future versions rather than the high gloss black surface. I also like that the device has a tripod screw mount on board on the bottom. It could be mounted closer to the center balance point, however.Things I didn't like or would suggest improvements be made: The speaker is quite underwhelming, even though they say it is improved. As I mentioned above, I ordered 3 products and the other two had far superior sound rendering on board with two speakers and more powerful drivers. One did not need an auxillary sound system to be present. However, plugging in my Bose Sounddeck was simple and made for a sizable improvement in the sound rendering. The plastic should be rendered in a texture, especially with the black, to allow for fingerprints not to be so visible. Looks like a kid has rubbed hands all over it once in use, no matter how clean ones hands are. This is a nice little projector for the money and will hopefully produce a long living experience for us as owners.
