Quick read, valuable advice
As someone who does not have an MBA, and learned marketing from experience on the job, I found this book to be extremely helpful in filling in the fundamentals of brand management. I've worked for many brand managers and this book provides the knowledge needed to help understand their motivation, how to succeed on a team with them, and also the skills needed to rise in the ranks to become an associate brand manager or brand manager. I also love that it is a super quick read and to the point! I read the whole book on a cross country plane ride. Get this book for quick advice that you can implement immediately!

Highly recommended!
This book should be required reading for anyone thinking of getting into CPG marketing (I honestly wish it had existed when I got started). It will give you a thorough overview of exactly what an ABM job is like -- the good, the bad, and everything in between -- and how to excel at it. Refreshingly honest, bracingly smart, and a lot of fun. Highly recommended!

Very Useful Brand Managment Primer
This is a great book for those starting out their careers in Brand Managment. This offers concrete, actionable advice from someone who has been “down in the trenches” and excelled. Mahesh’s pedigree is impressive - Stanford undergrad, a Wharton MBA, and a much-sought-after ABM role at General Mills right after business school. For those seeking a similar path, this is a desirable primer!

ABM as a mini CEO, who knew?
If you are a student considering a career in marketing or a startup deciding what experience your marketing team needs to have, then this book will be a tremendous resource to you. I truly did not understand the value of an ABM before reading this book, and have already changed the hiring requirements of positions we are looking to fill (I am not a marketing person). Highly recommend this easy-to-read treasure.

Must read book for anyone who is considering being an ABM
A must read for anyone considering being an ABM. The book is well written. The author does a great job taking rather complex concepts and breaking them into easily understandable, digestible parts. I will be recommending this book frequently to my colleagues.

Do not recommend
Based upon the reviews I thought this would be a really good read, however after reading a few pages it was not at all up to my expectations. Her examples are not well thought out and not explained in clear detail

Real world knowledge
A great way to transition from what you learned in the classroom to what you need to know/ do on the ground, in the real world. Highly recommended.
