A very useful work light
In the plain cardboard box are the head torch and a USB micro-B charging cable. Before use the battery box cover has to be removed and the paper insulation isolating the batteries taken out. The batteries are charged using the USB cable, the LED on the back goes from red to green, this takes 8 to 15 hours. In use the torch is incredibly bright, I use it as a work light, the light can be angled to illuminate what I'm working on. The head torch doesn't have any padding and is quite heavy, there are two adjusting buckles on the headband to get a comfortable fit; I found it comfortable to wear, certainly for short periods of an hour or so. There is a red "X" on the back of the battery box that illuminates when the light is on. The torch section can be unclipped although the flex is quite short. Construction is very good, the torch section is a mix of plastic and metal, and it feels as if it is built to last. I find head torches are very useful and this is a very good one.

Amazing for on site work
This is the dad of all head torches! It is so bright! Unbelievably bright. The rechargeable feature is a life saver as we work on site through the day and night, so it really is amazing for us.The foldable light feature is great and spreads the light well.I cant recommend this torch enough!

Illuminating
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I have a few head-torches for walks and hikes up the mountains etc as it is always good to be prepared. I was amazed at the quality of this head-torch and how much it illuminated. You could use it for search and recovery with no problems or even when working outside at night. The torch has 7 LED lights which can be moved into various patterns depending on how far and concentrated you want the illumination to cover. It has a battery cover which needs tags removed before using, it came with some charge but I would recommend charging completely if going to use. There is a button on top which cycles through the illumination options - click once to switch on 3 middle LED light, click again to illuminate the other 4 lights and switch off middle ones, the next click illuminates all lights and click again flashes. It has a red X tail light on back which is useful for a warning if waking at night. The light also rotated up and down and folds and unfold so beam can be directed where you need it. It does feel a bit weighty but not that uncomfortable. I was very impressed with the quality of this head torch and would definitely recommend.

Holy melted eyeballs, Batman!
This product must have been designed by Batman. It has the solid, chunky quality of a Bat-Gadget, and its components fold-out into a bat-ish configuration. And by golly it's bright! It's also quite heavy (not a bad thing) and rubbery (oooh-er!) and feels like the sort of equipment one might don before going out at night to do battle with evil geniuses and crazed, cackling, clowns. It also might be quite useful for finding your cat at 3am!I have a pretty large (200ft) garden, and this torch easily illuminated its entire expanse, without even needing to move it around. One shine and bam! Instant daylight! (Maybe not quite, but close). It allows a choice of all LEDs lit, some of them lit, or an annoying strobe effect that serves no useful purpose I can think of, except to cause epileptic seizures or dazzle passing airline pilots causing them to crash into nearby structures. These options are accessed by repeat presses of the power button, which means that once you've turned the torch on there's no way to turn it off again without having to go through a strobe cycle. That's annoying, especially if you're epileptic or an airline pilot! The battery pack has a rubbery cover that you need to remove to pull out the tabs that protect the batteries from leakage during storage. This cover is quite loose-fitting, and I wonder if over time it may become irksome. Once the tabs are removed, you can plug the device into a USB power outlet to charge. There is an LED indicator to let you know it's working. The front-facing LED eyeball-melters have a tilt-adjuster as well as the fold-out bat-wings, and you'll quickly find that the configuration of your beam allows for most uses and situations.Overall, this is a fabulous torch. Far more powerful and versatile than any other I've used. I think they missed a trick when naming their product, though. It should definitely be called a "Bat-Light".

Flawed design
This is a very large head torch with a 3x18650 rechargeable battery pack. This torch has 7 LED's and 4 modes. 3 brightest LED's on, 4 dimmest LED's on and all 7 on. This torch has a couple of major flaws. The 4 dim LED's provide a very narrow spot with no wide area light at all. The arms of the head torch can be moved to slightly change the shape of the spot but it is an essentially useless feature that adds weight to the headtorch. I can't imagine any use for it. The three bright LED's provide a tight very bright spot and a full flood light light. All 7 LED's provide a light slightly dimmer than the 3 LED's on their own, again utterly pointless. I have quite a few head torches and this is by far the worst I have used in the last 10 years.
