Really nice case.
I bought this case for my Squire Affinity Stratocaster & it fits perfectly! The case is hard on the outside with a nice plush interior. It holds my guitar in place very nicely. It’s pretty lightweight too. I have hard cases for a few of my other guitars & they are much heavier. It’s perfect for storage & as a gig bag. I’m very happy with it. Gator cases rock!

Very nice but not the size listed in the description (but size is deceptive)
Update: I was about to return my Gator case, sadly because except for size it was exactly what I wanted. I thought maybe I could crush the foam at each end of the case enough to make it fit my guitar. Put the guitar in the case to see how much to squish and the guitar fell right into place. What happened? I put the headstock in first this time. The foam is hollowed out more at that end near the the bottom of the case (at least I think that's what's going on). If I put the bottom neck strap pin in first, in the space hollowed out for it, the headstock does not fit at the other end. Needs another inch or so before it will go in. If I put the headstock end in first, everything lines up better and I have a VERY snug fit. So I'm increasing my stars from 2 to 5 (I'm reviewing the case, NOT the packaging). No longer returning, happy again. Gator also responded to my comment, very important to see that they care. So, your mileage may vary, but this case works for me. Original review: Description says it holds a guitar up to 39.5" long, with body length up to 19". My guitar is that size (I measured before buying). Body length dimension is about 1/2" too short and overall length is an inch too short. My guitar doesn't fit even though it matches the the size listed. Guitar is a Schecter Omen 6 extreme. Very disappointed the description is so misleading (or they can't control their sizes, or someone decided to cut costs). Now I need to go through the hassle of returning it and picking out a different case. One reason I chose this case was because dimensions were given in the description. I won't trust Gator again (same dimensions are listed on other sites, so it's not an Amazon fault). Case seemed to be made well and was just what I wanted: lightweight and sturdy with some storage space inside for pedals, tuner, slides, picks, recorder, etc., and a pocket outside for music books and note sheets. Looks great also. If you have a smaller guitar this might be a perfect choice. Packaging was bad. It was shipped in a very large box and the tape was not holding the flaps shut by the time it arrived. Case could have easily fallen out of box and it was so loose that case was scuffed up from rubbing against the cardboard box. Why they bothered to put a single piece of crumpled paper in the box I'll never know; maybe there was more that fell out.

Great built and great protection
It is the second lightweight case I got from gator. The first one was for an acoustic guitar. Both case were bought in order to travel on train and plane with my guitars (overhead bin as carryon). They both arrived safe and sound after many long flights. The built of both case is really good, very strong and good quality. Both the acoustic and less Paul guitar fits perfectly. If you are looking for a good protection case for travelling or to secure your guitar it is perfect. The only cons I can find is for daily use as the backpack straps that are very uncomfortable and looks a bit weak on the hooks. Also it is not possible to open the cover fully and it does not stay in place when it is opened.

Great quality, but size was an issue.
I bought this hard bag for my Epiphone Les Paul prophecy. The body of my guitar was too thick, and it made the fit too tight. The length and width were fine. The depth was too shallow. It would be great for strats or RG style guitar. Again, great bag. Sturdy, lightweight, price effective. 5 stars if it was correctly advertised. 4 stars for wasting my time.

Superb protection for Stratocaster & Telecaster
Strong recommendation for this Gator lightweight hybrid case. It combines the light weight of a gig bag with all the padding and protection of a hardshell case. Not intended for checking on an airline, it is perfect for pros and armatures to protect their guitar at home or going to gigs. It perfectly fits Stratocaster and Telecaster style guitars with enough, but not too much room. BTW, this this my second Gator guitar protection product. I also have a 4G series gig bag and it too offers reasonable protection for home and around town use. Gater products are great!

Good case I like it.
I like gator cases. This one is a good bass case. Fit my Schecter just fine. it has nice padding some ridgitiy on the outside and protects my stuff. I love this case. It's got some pockets and things. Most bases I've had I've used their cases to protect. The Schecter is a little short but it's been fine. It's got decent padding. I transport my heat in here in the car and Cary it around like it's an instrument so I'm not "bahgage handler rough" on them . My Dean was a little tight but after a week or two fit perfectly. Just needed some time to mold into it nice and snug. This is nice because it's a little lighter than the gator hard case and still great protection. Gator is awesome about customer service and questions form my experience as well. Good next support. Good bottom support where all the staps go. A little foam block for shorter bases would work if air traveling but it had nice padding and a snug secure fit. I've been happy with gator gear it's worth it. Keep it nice 👌 👍

Great quality case
Bought this for a PRS SE Custom Quilt and it fits so good it's almost like it was custom made for it. Nice and lightweight but still plenty stuff enough that I wouldn't worry about any damage to the guitar throwing it in and out of vehicles or whatever. Don't know if I'd quite trust it for air travel, but even then I think it would hold up fine. Love that there's extra separated areas inside where you can put pedals, cables, etc. I honestly can't recommend this enough. I paid more for a hard case that wasn't even close to as nice as this. And I honestly think the guitar is safer in this also.

I went back and forth between a Gibson hard case or a gig bag, researching all the options (not a lot of case options that form fit for SG style guitars). I found this Gator bag/case at a good price and had a similar style case for my Flying V, which I liked, and was at a good price here on Amazon. I was going to pull the trigger on a Gibson Protector case but decided to give this one a try first and I’m glad I did. This case is solid like a hard case would be but operates like a gig bag (including shoulder straps). The case is well built, very solid (no flex) and very light. Hesitate not..you won’t regret this purchase.
