does the bread maker come with instructions

Yes it does ... and the easy-to-follow manual also contains a few bread and rolls recipes. There are higher-wattage machines on the market (bake in less time) but You will pay more. I have, so far, no complaints regarding having to wait an extra 30-45 minutes for my home-baked loaves.
