Fantastic book
I had to purchase this book for a Yin yoga workshop I took, and I have to say, the book does a good job of explaining the poses, how to get in and out of the poses, the pictures are very helpful. The information is great, however, I was following along with the instructor. Chapter 1 & 2 were a great introduction along with Chapters 7 & 8.I will be using this book when I prep for my classes. It's a very well written book, and I would recommend it.

Great beginners book to yin yoga
I have enjoyed learning about yin yoga with this book. Has a lot of good information about yin yoga. Nice visuals of the poses, great descriptions and good information for modifications. Nice intro info about meridians and which ones apply to each yin yoga pose. I would recommend if your are wanting an overview of yin.

Crucial in Teacher Training
Just finished my 200 hour teacher certification and wanted to take that next step. Heard amazing things about this book in getting more versatile in yin yoga and this book did not disappoint. It is the perfect balance between detailed and descriptive with the nitty gritty but easy to read and understand and relate. Will be recommending this to all my fellow yogis!

This gem of a book just got so much better!
The best book on Yin Yoga in my opinion. The newly revised second edition is incredible. So much more content and many more ohotos! The photos include models of different body sizes as well as a pregnant model. Additionally there are photos of many variations of each pose. The layout of text in this edition is clean and easy to read. It’s a wonderful revision. I teach multiple yin classes weekly and this is my go to reference book. This second edition is much more helpful (in my opinion) when compared to the first. If wondering should you make a choice between the first edition and second edition....absolutely choose the second.

SO MUCH INFORMATION!!! 👏👏
I have never looked into yin yoga, and thought it would be a good balancing movement to learn about. I was underprepared by the wealth of knowledge and value this book contains! It briefly discusses history, how yin and yang movements work together, and then the middle has specific poses and guidelines to help release and stress deep tissue. It does a great job at not just explaining the how, but the why. What took my experience to the next level was the whole 2nd half of the book!! It bridges the gap between western science and eastern energetics! It talks about all the various body tissues, systems, cellular processes, etc (in easily understood language) to help explain how amazingly complex, and brilliant our bodies are. It also helps emphasize how we can heal ourselves. My book has become well loved from the worn cover, marked pages, highlights etc. Definately one that will stay ok my shelf for continuous reference.

It’s Yin Time
I needed this text for my yoga certification. It’s a great read and I love the sequences with modifications. I also appreciate how the author uses different sized people for photos.

I love this!!!
I was doing research on gentle forms of yoga and found the term Yin Yoga so I ordered this book. Its great. I've been doing his set of Asanas several times a week and I'm seriously considering getting certified to become a Yin Yoga instructor. I'm 60, and I have arthritis since I was 40. I've been doing physical therapy and stretching exercises since I was diagnosed with arthritis to prevent deteriorating. I started yoga about a year ago for variety and I'm loving it. But because of my age and conditions i wanted gentler yogas. Found Yin and Restorative and got several book here on Amazon. I'm alternating Yin, Restorative and the Yoga card sets. I haven't done my regular stretching or physical therapy exercises since I started yoga. Doesn't mean I won't again. But Yin and Restorative yoga have been a blessing and tons of fun!
