Not only does it do what it’s supposed to do with ease not using one is terrible so if you’ve never used one I strongly recommend you get one of these and try it out. All my family and friends use this and they all say the same thing it does the job really well. Also I use it a lot not just during the winter time but sometimes even other seasons because we live in New Mexico where it’s very very dry and it lasts about a year and a half. I am extremely pleased and I’ve gone out of my way to try to find it the old fashion way shopping on foot so I was delighted to find it here. Get one try it out see what you think you’ll be thanking me.

We have hard water, if you don't want to buy distilled, this is a nice option.Helps prevent that hard water build up --- so you dont have to spend hours cleaning/scrubbing your humidifier. Def want to replace often, but it works!

I bought this product after going through all the reviews. The product does what it says...I have seen considerable reduction in the white dust accumulation in the room and well as mineral deposits on the operating surface of the humidifier. I have used it only for 1 month now...and the filter is still working...Cons:- Only problem i found was that the filter doesnt fit the humidifier perfectly. [To the first time users - this filter replaces the existing cap of the humidifier tank].I own the Crane Penguin humidifier and the tank sits on the base perfectly with the original cap. But with the filter (even after securing it tightly to the tank) the tank doesn't sit perfectly on to its base...it remains a bit raised (due to the imperfection of the filter) and causes the water vapors to leak thru the sides...not a big deal though. And I am not sure whether it's a problem with the particular piece i bought.

We have a Crane water vaporizer (the elephant) and this filter keeps our water clean in the unit.

This is our fourth Crane humidifier. The first 2 were the Drop shape, and while we loved them, the maintenance was high because of our hard water. They each lasted 15-18 months, save for a 4-month summer reprieve. I started using a Protec ball but didnt feel like they did anything, so stopped buying them. We think the mineral build-up is what caused their demise, and I take full blame for not cleaning them as often as instructed.Dust happens, especially in our home with forced-air heat, so I didn't purchase the cartridge for white dust reduction as much as humidifier maintenance support. I have had the Dragon and filter for about 5 weeks now, and the demineralization cartridge causes a noticeable difference in the unit. The water tank and reservoir have significantly less cleaning required - as in I've only cleaned it once, and not because the water had brown build-up but because I realized it was due for a vinegar rinse.I do think we've had a dust reduction but I couldn't attribute it completely to the humidifier cartridge because we also started using a more "advanced" furnace filter. I also can't tell if the filter causes less water to be misted into the air as the tank seems smaller than our former drop-shape tank even though one fill lasts the dragon through at least two full nights (medium powere 8pm-7am, low output or off rest of day).I say 5-stars because I'm lazy and I like not having to clean the humidifiers that are a necissity in our house at least 6-months a year. I will continue to buy these Crane-specific demineralization cartridges.

Using this filter has made such an improvement with my drop humidifier! No more white ‘dust’ on any surfaces, and the best part, there’s no more pink or black mold when i clean my humidifier!

DO NOT BUY. I bought 2 for both kiddos’ humidifiers. They ran 11-12 hours a night.. no issue. Would dump water during the day and let them dry. UNTIL a week later, the basin of the humidifiers was orange. The metal mechanism in this filter had rusted. These are no longer usable, had to be removed and thrown away, and may have ruined my humidifier unit. Seriously, lasted ONE WEEK.

Nothing to say. It works well. That's the only thing i could ask for.

I like this filter for my Humidifier, particularly since we have hard water. It works quite well. However, there have been times in past, no matter how careful I was to screw the unit onto the humidifier when the unit becomes cross threaded (or something like that) and will no longer attach to the unit. A waste of an expensive filter.

No issues with fit. We have a crane drop and no issues with fit despite negative reviews on Amazon. Much better way to go vs buying distilled water or getting a softener. No white flaky residue as compared with no filter. Only about 4 fills in so we will see on longevity.
