Great for frying!
I wanted to make a healthier decision when it came to my frying oil, after having discovered the damage that seed oils can do to one's body and digestive tract. I used both containers to fry about 4 lbs of chicken, which came out to be some of the best that I've ever had. This stuff is great!

Love it and will order again
Really good taste. Great for cooking or just eating on bread with raw onions. Delish. Love it

Hard to find in the local stores
Very nice product to use. Fell out of favor years back, but now touted on some cooking shows. Lives up to it’s promise in flakey pie dough.

Southern Cook in need of Armour LARD?--Amazon is the place
I don't make as many biscuits as I used to, but when I am ready to roll dough for a Southern biscuit, nothing works like Armour lard. It's what my mother used so it's what I want. It is not easy to find at regular grocery stores--so I head to Amazon. It's what I want, an with Amazon it comes to my door, so I am a happy baker. Plus the 2 pack has a bonus--a basting brush!

Wanted to see if lard improves my fried chicken
The southern black woman showed on youtube that they use lard to cook chicken in to improve the taste. Like they use to back before lard was taboo. I tried it and no, I did not like it. Going back to vegetable oil. It left a tasteless film in my mouth so did not like it. Can't say if it was this brand or all. It was an experiment, but it won no prize.

Started using for health reasons
I started using this because I found out seed oils are bad for your health and animal fats are more healthy. Food tastes delicious when cooked using the lard

Make pie crust like your Grandmother used to make
Love this for making pie crust - also very useful for pan frying foods. I like this much better than other oils for cooking - you get a more consistent browning and more flavor. If you use cast iron pans this really works great.

2nd year using this brand...
I always use lard to make a type of cookie my parents used to make by the hundreds. They are more like a tea cake and people love them. I have tried using substitutions but the lard gives the cookies a certain flavor that enhances the other spices used. Substitutions leave a cookie that one could describe as "blah." The lard makes really makes the cookie.
