Small Our Lady of Vladimir & Annunciation triptych, crafted in Greece and made of warm red wood, with carved back and metal hinges. The central panel features the key portrayal (the Virgin of Vladimir), while the side panels boast the Archangel and the Virgin Mary during the Annunciation. The images, which resemble the Byzantine icons in appearance, are colour prints on glossy paper glued on the wood panels, whose upper parts are blunt. The predominant colours are warm dark red and gold. This triptych can be a nice gift idea for confirmations, communions, weddings, anniversaries, etc. This depiction of Our Lady of Vladimir (also known as "Theotókos of Vladimir") is a copy of the world-known Byzantine icon dating back to the 12th century, painted in Constantinople and now shrined in Moscow. It is among the most venerated Orthodox icons in the world. The Virgin wears a dark red veil and the faces of the subjects boast very refined shades. Even the depiction of Baby Jesus' curly hair denotes a pretty appreciable attention to detail. The son embraces the mother and the two subjects are cheek to cheek. This portrayal is a classic example of Eleusa icon, and conveys a strong feeling of maternal tenderness. Depending on availability, the pattern of the external carving and the images of this travel icon may differ from what is shown in the photo. Dimensions (open): Height 2.8" / 7 cm, Width 3.9" / 9.8 cm. Made in Greece.
