Good skill-building, vocab and spelling activities. I found it useful to have my kid work through the set of spelling words, then give my own "spoken" test at the end. It has a variety of activities associated with each set of words, which allows kids to see (and write) the words several times over. The fact of the matter is, schools don't focus on spelling nearly enough (if at all) anymore and I found this to be an excellent supplemental resource. Worth the money. Review: Finally a good spelling book - Homeschool - after using my curriculum’s provided spelling program for kindergarten through fourth grade, I found my daughter really didn’t know how to spell words very well. Fifth grade, I tried a workbook similar to this, sixth grade I tried a whole other program. I was not satisfied with either of these. I got this workbook this year, I really feel like it works well. For example, on one of the lists, after doing the second step of the first day’s exercise, where you cover the words and write them again, my daughter did not know nine of them, but by the end of the week, she only missed one letter out of all of the words. Each day I have her right correctly the words she missed five times, and each day I see the number of incorrect words go down. I did order one grade level down, because I feel like we are still trying to catch up in our spelling and it seems just right, some words she knows easily, some words she still learns

Bought because I was homeschooling my kiddo. Worked great! Broke everything down and made things super easy! Came in great shape, and was a life saver!

Well organized and engaging...
Workbooks are often boring and vocabulary can be tedious. This workbook gives easy to follow strategies for learning and remembering vocabulary. They map out the week for the student and make it easy for the teacher as well.

Very straightforward workbook
These are our favorite spelling workbooks for homeschooling. I’ve spent a lot of kobeh on gigantic bundled spelling curriculum and it is so hard to get into… this workbook is all we need… it has a spelling list of 18 words (and space where you can add two more of your own) and then 3 pages of activities related to the words. This is perfect for our needs and makes it so easy to just jump right in and get it done.

I use this resource to creat weekly homework packages for my students. There are 4 pages of activities to go with each list of words. I like how the activities change throughout the book so the students do not get bored as they move through the word lists. If a student needs extra practice on a list of words, I just use the internet to create new activities based on the word list provided. A helpful thing to add in a future print would be to include extra activities at the back of the book that could be formulated to go with any list of words to use when extra practice is needed.

It's my first year teaching Grade 6, and this has been a helpful resource over the past couple of months. Spelling lists are organized by different themes (spelling patterns, sounds) and include a few reinforcement activities. One caution is that is an American resource - so some spelling needs to be revised. I also wished it gave more practice with definitions.

Excellent book came quickly, love how it has something new to incorporate the spelling words for each day of the week.
