Great Japanese quality
For carpentry this tape is excellent. The build is very good, good retraction, good standout for the blade width, decent hook. It is also very small and fits comfortably in the hands. Also has measurements on the back

Great tape. Durable blade. Favorite tape so far.
I’ve been building cabinets for 16 years and have used and abused every tape measure out there. I’ve been using this one for about 3 months and there’s not even a kink in the blade edge yet. I cut a lot of molding and always bend and drop my tape. This one has held up very well.Only problem I have with this tape measure is you can’t hook and pull the tape with one hand. The rubber guard around the plastic case is thick and doesn’t allow the blade hook to hang down. You have to pull the tape out a few inches and then hook and pull. Minor.. but still annoying at times.

Best build quality, but lacks in accuracy.
First off the good. The tape measure has excellent build quality in all the areas that really count. The tape blade is very strong and rigid with clear markings. The 32nd marks for the first 12 inches are very welcome. The design shines when it comes to the end hook - it has zero play except in the direction that it should to account for inside vs outside measurements. I have never seen another tape measure brand's hook design come even close to Tajima's. There is a soft bumper to prevent the tape hook slamming into the body upon recoil, and I anticipate this greatly helping to prevent damage to the tape measure hook's rivets, which would affect measurements. The bad. My ONE big gripe, and its a fairly significant one in my opinion, is that the tape is NOT AS ACCURATE as I had hoped. When compared to my precision 12" steel ruler (and also verified with certified Mitutoyo digital calipers), the tape measure is about 1/3 of a 32nd off. Both inside measurements as well as outside measurements have this exact same amount of error (which means the hook design is working very well). I had heard so many good things about this brand and it's reputation for accuracy, but I was it was not as good as I was hoping. As I use it for fine woodworking and furniture building, this means the difference between seamless quality wood joinery and second-rate joinery.Aside from this I am not a fan of the belt clip thingy. It makes the tape ridiculously thick and requires you have that stupid clip wherever you go if you want to have it easily accessible on your person. A standard belt clip would have been much better IMO.

My new favorite tape measure
Not sure what it is that makes this tape measure my new favorite. Super smooth operation and heavy duty hook are a plus. I modified my work apron to accomodate for the clip. The clip really helps secure the tape measure and is super easy to remove and replace the tape. I am a full time woodworker and spend most of my time in the woodshop. This tape definitely is worth the few extra bucks.

Tajima makes great stuff
Big numbers are black on white background are easy to read. Tape fits in hand nicely, and clip is nice. Blade wont stand out like some bigger measuring construction oriented tapes, but its a nice tape to have around.

Tape keeps twisting
I really like the safety clip and the tape looks great and works great for some time. The first 2 feet or so start twisting slowly over time making it almost impossible to hook onto something for measuring and keeping it from unhooking.

Quickdraw McGraw
I love this tape measure. Only one I use anymore. The belt attachment is clutch, and I'm constantly quick drawing it and snapping the tape out at my kids and dogs for fun. Kids think it's funny, dogs not so much. Big easy to read numbers, black on white, and I like the locking system better than the auto lock on my komelon. Only improvement that could be made is fractional numbers so you don't have to count the lines and do your own calculations. Not a big deal, but mildly annoying as you get older and lose your good vision and quick brain. One things die sure, I'll never lose my quickdraw with this tape measure!

Great tape
These are my favorite tape measures. They have great stand out reach for a cabinet shop sized tape. I find it easier to read the matt white tape and was suprised to find the numbers on the back came in handy already. I think the fancy clip will be good in the summer when it becomes to warm to wear my apron.

Never drop this tape off my belt.
A little expensive and wouldn't want it framing all day, that's what a fat max is for.Great in the shop. Accurate and very easy to read.

Almost perfect
This is a very good but not great product. The tape clip is a great idea but I wear an apron most of the time and it doesn’t fit well in the tape pocket. Around the end of the blade there is excellent protection so it doesn’t get bent or damaged keeping your tape measuring accurately. The blade is really easy to read and very high quality, it could use a small slot so you can hook onto a nail easily. Overall I really like it but this is a 35$ tape and is not correctly priced and I would not purchase again

Keep getting wrong item
I bought this 16' tape measure cause iv had one before and love em. Problem isnt with the product, but rather getting the wrong product, twice. When it first came i got a light a switch instead that had the sticker and bar code of the 16' tape measure. i complained and they sent what they said was the correct item, which it was not. Instead i got the 25' version of this tape measure, with the sticker and barcode of the 16'. some people may ask why im complaining, free upgrade, no i want the 16' version for a reason. its nice and small and comfy to use, and its not bulky and heavy to carry around all day squeezing into small places sometimes. man id really like to get the right one.
