Comfort and quality
Was looking for a lightweight headphone replacement with retractable mike and settled on the Logitech High-performance USB Headset H540. It did not disappoint. The fit is comfortable and can be worn for hours without any discomfort. The ear pieces contour well to the ear and angle slightly inward to add to the comfort. The padding is soft, but also allows the ears to breath (not ear encompassing). Ear height to to head arc/rest adjustments are as easy as a slide click away. Sound quality is excellent for gaming, YouTube, podcasts, music, movies, Discord, Zoom, etc. with crisp dynamic range, however, it could use more Bass support. The flip down mic with mute (lighted indicator an added plus) is equally excellent, clear and concise. The fact that the mic can be flipped up and hidden when not in use is a great design. It is very lightweight and not bulky at all. If you want a single ear with and ear free configuration, the left ear can even be positioned off ear without a problem and still be comfortable. Recommended.

A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE
i recently bought all five levels of Rosetta Stone to improve my Italian. The package came with a cheap looking headset. Rosetta Stone is a language learning program that requires you to both listen to a foreign language and speak it back. My language learning has been handicapped by my own hearing issues and the fact that I wear hearing aids. If I listen to an unfamiliar foreign word, I have to be able to hear it clearly, and that's been a struggle in face to face conversation, to say nothing of straining to clearly hear words in an unfamiliar language through the filter of a computer headset. The headset that came with the Rosetta Stone CDs produced muffled, unintelligible speech. I hauled out an older Logitech headset that I'd always thought worked fairly decently with Skype calls, but it actually wasn't much better. The Italian words spoken on the CDs still sounded like the speaker was distant and hard to hear. Both the Logitech and Rosetta Stone headsets made my hearing aids squeal with so much feedback that I had to take them out, making it even harder for me to hear. I started looking for options and found the Logitech h540 headest on Amazon Prime. The reviews were impressive and in two days I was plugging them into a USB Port on my computer. I pulled up the Rosetta Stone and plunged back into the world of spoken Italian. I was stunned. I am still grinning.I just finished a lesson and scored 100%. I could hear every word as if a native speaker was sitting right across from me. The clarity of speech was startling. It was like I had somehow gotten my 20-year old hearing back. I even left my hearing aids in and there was not a peep or hint of feedback. YIPPEE! I threw my old headset into the garbage. This one is a winner! It even has a mute button and a =/- volume control right on the headband where it's easy to reach. I often make Skype calls to relatives in Germany and this truly excellent headset is going to make a huge improvement in call quality there too.I am happy to recommend it to you.

Solid Budget-Friendly Wired Headset That Gets the Job Done
I'd call this a really good entry-level headset if you're looking for something straightforward that works well without breaking the bank. The H540 is lightweight and super easy to use - just plug and play, no complicated setup needed. The sound quality is solid for the price point, and the mic picks up voice clearly without issues. I used it regularly for work calls and basic gaming before upgrading to a wireless option (mainly needed more freedom of movement). For the price, you're getting a reliable headset that handles the basics well. It's comfortable enough for long wearing sessions and the USB connection is hassle-free whether you're on Windows or Mac. If you need an inexpensive headset that works well and you don't mind being tethered to your computer, this is a great option. Sure, there are fancier headsets out there, but for basic use - calls, gaming, music - this one definitely delivers good value for money. Bottom line: Perfect starter headset or budget option for anyone who needs something simple and reliable.

God Product
I still give the headset 5 stars. Its just was not compatible with my jobs phone systems. It was so comfortable and sound is great and ease of the mute button at my finger tips!

Good listening audio volume and quality but mic is quiet
When comparing the volume of the mic (set to max) to the playback volume of the headphones.... I found it severely lacking. Mic audio quality was nice but it just wasnt that loud. I could shout but not clip, meaning... Any work that requires me to listen to audio while speaking is not for this headphone. The buttons on the headphones are incredibly soft. The mute button is easy to find but I did find myself having to look for the volume up and down a lot. Also, mic arm is short... Too short. And then the LED that lets you know you're muting the headphone is a little close to me. I would have wanted it a foot farther so I could actually see it in my periphery. I will say that they sound great = i can hear voices loud and clear without them being harsh. One weird mic quirk... It is extremely senstive to some really high pitch but not irritating sounds like clacking of keyboards, ruffling noise when rubbing hand rests for keyboard or mouse pads. I... Will not buy these again but I would say they are worth the money.

looking for BEST USB headset with microphone - the one that work ...
looking for BEST USB headset with microphone - the one that work IMMEDIATELY without any troubleshooting and feels comfortable for hours to wear - look no more - i wasted many hours doing research going to store trying headsets , dealing with noise conection problem and other little things on OTHER headphones i try before even ordered Klipsich and few other well known brands to find out that all of them has either connection problem or NO USB connection or microphone dont work when headphones work - (no kidding seriously man!!!) returned all and then bumped to this headset - in store 50$ on Amazon 25$ (that how much i payed) and it work better than 100$ options i bought before - guys seriously i am NOT reseller i was not payed or bribed to write this just i do believe that good product like this should be recognized to promote manufacture that make things right. I personally use it on my XP desctop and XP laptop for Rosetta stone (when using microphone) and listening music and movies - can NOT be better. Microphone is reliable and again - no problem from first time plug it in .... very very happy ...generally happy with Logitech - just dont go with expensive versions or cheap once - with Logitech it is NOT about price - you do have to research and try to find the best but reliability vice i have old mouse and keyboard that i got 5 years ago first wireless once - still works and hold the charge. Anyway buttom line - dont look no more if looking for microphone and comphy headphones with USB connection - no sound jack but USB connection.

Major downgrade from previous model H530
Sadly, my previous logitech headset, the H530, stopped functioning. I really liked that headset. Unfortunately, this new version of the headset falls far, far short of the H530. Whats wrong with the headset: - Thick, stiff cable that rubs up against everything. Since the cable is attached to the side with the microphone, every little movement or vibration is transmitted to the microphone. You must be absolutely still when you talk or the other end will hear thump, thump, thump. - Mute and volume controls transmit a loud thunk into the microphone when they are pressed. The previous model had the switches and cable attached to the opposite side of the microphone for good reason. - The microphone does a poor job of filtering out background noises like computer fans. - Voices are not dynamically equalized very well. The previous model had a switch for selecting voice mode. This one does not and any dynamic equalization that it might claim to do simply doesnt work well. Voice comm has way too much base for clarity and it can be hard to pick out the sound of voices when there is background interference on the other end. Its fatiguing after a while. - The sideband feature( transmits a small portion of what say back into the speakers ) must have a delay or something because the sound of my own voice feels very disorientating. This is a good feature to have on a headset that snugly fits the ears because your brain expects to hear what you are saying. But if your voice is delayed too much or the tone is altered too much due to bad equalization the result sounds very wrong. I normally love Logitech products. I have purchased many over the years because their product designers put *thought* into their designs. How they could have gone so far backwards from the H530 to the H540 is mind boggling and I hope its not the beginning of a new trend in how Logitech approaches products. This is a terrible voice communication headset and I would strongly advise anyone reading this to look elsewhere. I ended up purchasing a Plantronics blackwire headset and I am very happy I did so.

So comfy! Great sound :)
I bought this for work. The headphones are *really* comfortable. I do wear glasses, so around the 2 hour mark, i have to take the headphones off and readjust. I start to feel a dull ache where my glasses meet the headphones on the side of my head. The volume adjust and the mute on the right side are great features. My favorite feature, though, is the boom mic. It tucks between the earphone and "headband" part perfectly. It looks well protected in its place, and I can lay the headphones perfectly flat. It's also great that the mic is not obnoxiously or noticeably in front of my mouth when using it. One review I read said that you can hear yourself in the headphones. That happened to me the first time (30 minutes) I used it. Since then, I've worked 17 hours and with fast and slow internet connects (other person, not me). I haven't heard myself in a delayed loop back since that first time. Now, it's crystal clear. I have no idea what made it loop back at first. The cord is a little stiff- the bends from storing it during shipping have not straightened out yet. It hasn't gotten in my way, though. I hate Windows 10. But it's on my desktop...and the headohones work with all the applications. (Off - topic - don't be fooled by Skype Preview or whatever it is on Windows 10. It's completely worthless. Stick with traditional Skype so that you can use all the features. Chances are good that tbe person in the other side of the camera has access to traditional Skype anyway.)
