TormenterWaterman 5 Pocket Boardshorts

I'm really happy with my purchase of these board shorts. I've been searching for the right board shorts for awhile now that check all my boxes. Finally my search is over, these are the ones. Very comfortable soft inner fabric they don't chaf your skin. Plenty of pockets for everything which is exactly what I wanted. Heavy duty Velcro front closure and lace front tie. I was a little concerned the 38 would be to big because I usually take a 36 but the 38 fit perfectly. They are a little on the baggy side but that's ok lots of room for movement. The price was very reasonable considering all the features and quality and workmanship in these board shorts.

Fit was exactly the size I wear, 36”. Look and feel were comfortable and soft. I would definitely get this again in a different color. The added pockets are very nice especially when taking walks in the beach and being able to have a place for phone or keeping valuable items with you.

Needed something new for the water, but couldn't find anything in a design I liked. That is, until I came across these board shorts. Love the color and the fish skeleton on the leg. Do note that the picture looks like it's a gradually changing shade of gray into black, but that's not the case. These shorts are the same solid gray the whole way through (the upper portion of the gray is the right color). The fly is secured with velcro, along with a string to tie it. The string only covers the front portion of the waist--it does NOT go all the way around.The pockets are great, as well. Note that I'm not a fisherman (note to self: take up fishing), but the side pocket for tools feels very well put together. Not sure if the "hidden" bait pocket is worth anything (it's on the inside of the waist on the right leg side), but seems to me anything that got put in there would easily come out. Again, I'm no fisherman, but maybe it WOULD stay in there. Just seems like it wouldn't.All in all, the shorts fit as expected and the design is great. You won't be disappointed with these!

I really liked these swim trunks for the ease to get them on and how well they stayed on. We all worry about shorts that fall off getting out of the water to the shock of all where these stay securely in place. They are comfortable as well. The fabric breathes so well that in 15 minutes they were dry when i was outside. The pocket is keyfect for a room or pool key so that you dont have to bring anything but a towel.

I used them for swimming 4 days straight in Mexico in the pool and ocean. I love the fit, length, and design.There is no liner and I like it that way. When swimming in the ocean I always wear tight speedo shorts underneath so I don’t get chaffing on my legs. Saltwater does that to me. For the pool it’s fine without the base layer as long as you don’t mind going commando.Haven’t used for fishing yet but looking forward to wearing in the kayak and using the pliers pocket while standing up.Love all the pockets. Plenty of room for wallet, keys, phone, etc while walking around.One picture shows how the material shrunk and embroidery did not. Mine have had no shrinking at all. I also didn’t put it in the dryer after washing. It’s swimsuit type material so it line dries pretty quickly.

Great quality- perfect fit

I love the idea of all the pockets and the attention to detail is readily apparent in everything about these. The trunks were packaged nicely and they put in a huge fishbone sticker in with the boardshorts which is kind of cool. I don't care for the HUGE "tormentor" lettering stitched on the flap pocket, it's cheesy and has negative connotations...but the "Mahi" green fish skin style is pretty rad. I'm a big guy, my waist size is 36 but I had to go up to size 38...and even the 38s didn't fit right (too tight at waist and too big at the leg. I had to return those too. I generally loved the fit of the 36 much better as they tapered with the leg but the waist was too small (easily by two sizes), whereas the 38s feel a bit too billowy at the thigh like cargo shorts, though waist fit somewhat better but still too small.I wish the big flap pocket on the left was on the right as I'm right handed and that's where my phone and misc goes. Was really surprised there was no back pocket whatsoever. There is a double pocket on the right that rides higher up near your hips for your snips that might work for the phone, I might grow to love that pocket, I'm not sure yet. But I love the style of the waist (no annoying elastic to pinch you constantly), the trunks sit on your hips like true boardshorts, I like the wide band. The velcro seems solid enough in the fly area.Thankfully, there's no weird "diaper" in these boardshorts so the shorts feel like your wearing air rather than a hammock stitched into a pair of trunks. Having said that, they tend to fit small...they seem made more for skinny people.I'm worried the fabric won't last long but we'll see, I'm personally not a fan of the soft polyester and prefer surf nylon like handmade Birdwell Beach Britches.The company was great about returns and shipped me a larger pair lightening fast. I think it's a good company but I wish it had a back pocket and a big pocket on the lower right for quick access to your phone.

Size 34 fits like all my size 32 jeans. The 32 was too small so had to exchange it
