Existentialism ain't what it appears to be
We ordered the Rainbow Trout version, mostly because I like to eat those. However, after reviewing the other options, it occurs to me that cats might respond better to the Clownfish, with its brighter colors and more ornate overall shape. Know that the online photos of all four variations depict the tail as if it were flipping, that is, the photos show ghost images of the tail that do not exist. What do the cats think? Our two seniors, Keno (18) and Chai (17) mostly ignore it, unless they step on it by accident, which prompts it to start flopping. Then they study it to assess whether it is a threat. Once it stops flopping, they resume ignoring it. Tahnee, who is 10, is a very mild-mannered cat and mostly behaves the same., though he occasionally swats at it.That leaves three-year-old Goya, our rambunctious youngster, and hoo boy does he go to town. When Goya gets his claws into that fish, it gets batted and mouthed and tossed all over the living room. Ernest Hemingway would be humbled by the battles Goya has with that fish. Ironically, in typical Hemingway fashion, the fish always wins, but Goya lives up to his own standards and resumes the contest anew.Anyway...the fish charges through a USB cord, meaning you must have such an outlet to charge it (no battery backup). That said, the charge seems to last several days, and I would not call it insufficient. Since it is only motion-activated, it can be a challenge to tell when it needs recharging. That means your furbabies might be left with an interactive toy that does not interact.Amazon is recommending I mention the Sound Quality, Weight, and Size, so I will. We have hardwood floors, and so the sound of the fish flopping on and on is notable. Unless you have carpeted floors, you might want to ensure the fish is turned off before you go to bed. Otherwise, a rambunctious youngster like Goya might keep you up all night. The weight? Well, if it were an actual rainbow trout, you'd say, throw back the little ones. Maybe a half-pound. Size? It's not so big that cats (or, for that matter, you) cannot easily step around it.In sum, I feel this was an exceptional choice and I highly recommend it. For just a few bucks you can get a toy that your cats can actually paw, grab, bite, toss, fling, chase, pounce on, and otherwise work out all their home-bound energy on. But, it may prove less attractive to seniors.

Great for Bunny Kicking
I was looking for a long raking toy for my cat so he could bunny kick it to smithereens, and this toy is perfect. He's a larger cat (14-15 lb of muscle, tho not like a Maine coon or anything that large) but I feel like this toy is the perfect length for him to kick. When I opened the pouch to turn the motor on, I definitely smelled the catnip, so it's potent. The fabric of the fish itself seems well made too. The toy works well and the motor only activates when you touch it which is great. My cat loves to sit on it and then hug and kick it.It is a bit of noisy motor, so it can get a little annoying, but otherwise it was exactly what I was looking for.

Puppy and cat approved
My puppy and cats love this toy! I love that it will only move if you are interacting with it. It’s easy to charge and it’s stimulating for them. I also love that it’s not super loud so I can’t hear it if it goes off in the middle of the night.

My Cats Are Obsessed!
I saw this flopping fish toy on an influencer’s page and decided to try the clownfish version — it felt perfect since my cats are total clowns themselves! They’ve been loving it ever since it arrived. It’s been a great way to keep them active and engaged instead of just napping all day and only getting up to eat. The movement and design really catch their attention, and it’s fun to watch them play with it. Definitely worth the investment, especially with the deal going on right now. If your cats need a little more excitement, this toy is a winner!

Not really a fan.
My cat wasn't a fan of this toy. At first, he was curious about it. Less than a week later, he completely ignores it. The quality of the zipper isn't the best. I was afraid I was going to rip the stitching while zipping it back up after turning the toy on.I do like the automatic turn-off feature if my cat isn't interacting with it. It will turn on if he jumps and has a hard landing next to it. He's only 9 pounds.

Goyle the Maine Coon Approved
My cat really loves this toy.I really like that it is rechargeable.I haven't seen anything about the toy that tempts him to try to eat or chew it and I feel safe letting him play with it when I'm not home. The color and size are pretty realistic. He goes out of his way to play with this toy.It shuts off after a period of inactivity but starts right up again when he wants to play. And the charge lasts for a decent amount of time. This was a worthwhile purchase.

Good size, good fun, excellent laughter
When I had this guy charged he flopped around enough to scare my young wild boy. He kept coming back so I turn off the flipping and flapping. Then he made it his. I got to do the flip & flap a couple more times before he hid it. I wish I understood why cats and dogs hide their toys - it seems to be the ones they like the best, too.I would buy this again and have told family and friends about this gem. I would tell anyone who doesn't want to laugh until their sides hurt - whatever you do then don't buy it.

Cats love it - sound gets a little annoying after a while
Cats love it - the sound of the tail slapping the ground does get a bit annoying after a while, though
