Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX (Nintendo Switch)

Rescue Team DX is a surprisingly relaxing game to play, minus some boss battles, and it’s fun to grind for exp., although it’s not required. I was hoping for a nostalgic experience even though the only Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game I had played was Gates To Infinity about twelve years ago. It has a very cutesy art style, different from that of Gates To Infinity, that made unsure if it would feel nostalgic but it delivered on that feeling of comfort and familiarity very well.You can have the game literally play for you, if you wanted to, with the press of a few buttons, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Postgame is more fun, I’ve heard, but I’m having fun playing the main story so I’m actually looking forward to finishing it, but I’m still taking my time with it.10/10

Bought the game for my boyfriend. Almost perfect remake of the old school dungeons... but just a little bit better.

The best spin off of all the Pokemon games. This is a brilliant entry point for newcomers as well as an amazing return trip for veterans. Fun gameplay and a stellar story which is the main draw. There is incredible effort put into interacting with the Pokemon characters that makes you invested in them and hooks you with the exciting storyline.

Das Spiel wird hier in der englischsprachigen Verpackung angeboten. Das ist jedoch nicht weiter schlimm, da zu Beginn des Spiels eine Sprache ausgewählt werden kann. Ich spiele das Spiel komplett in deutscher Sprache.Das Spiel selbst ist in den meisten Punkten so wie ich es aus Mystery Dungeon Team Rot für den Gameboy Advance kenne. Man wacht als Pokemon auf, gründet ein Retterteam und erfüllt Aufträge. Anders als in anderen Pokemon-Spielen werden bei Mystery Dungeon keine Arena-Orden gesammelt und man muss weniger über Attacken nachdenken. Neu ist für mich, dass man einen Knopf drücken kann, mit dem sich das Retterteam selbstständig zur nächsten Treppe bewegt und dabei auch Items einsammelt. Daran kann ich mich in der Team Rot Edition nicht erinnern. Aus meiner Sicht macht das automatische Durchlaufen das Spiel deutlich leichter, irgendwie schon zu leicht. Für mich geht dadurch die Spannung verloren, den Dungeon selbst zu erkunden. Allerdings ist natürlich niemand gezwungen, das automatische Durchlaufen einzusetzen. Man kann das Spiel auch ohne diese automatische Steuerung spielen. Daher stört mich diese Neuerung nicht. Wenn man mal weniger Lust oder Energie hat, kann diese Erleichterung auch ganz angenehm sein.
