Deep rumble, not too loud
I had two of these installed on my 2008 Audi S4. The sound is deep and adds a nice growl to the 4.2 V8. They are not loud but do make the car sound more alive, especially decelerating in lower gears. I’m a fan

Great sound with minimal drone!
This product was great for my 2004 Chevy Silverado. I cut off the old muffler and discarded it along with the rest of the tailpipe. I attached this muffler in it's place using a size reducer with a few muffler clamps and it works great. Solid item all around. The muffler puts out a deep, throaty sound at a medium volume when accelerating, but backs off on the volume and droning when cruising at a set speed. My truck "cruises" between 1500-2300 RPMs on city roads and highway, and the drone isn't bad at all. Overall, loud when you want it to be and quiet when you don't. I think it's a great combination. Very happy with it.Note: The 2.5" measurement is the INSIDE DIAMETER of both ends. If you use this muffler on an 03-07 silverado like mine, you will need a reducer coupler since the stock piping on the truck is not 2.5".

Almost straight through, stainless steel and sounds great
Someone at work recommended this muffler after I was looking at all the Dynomax choices and I am so glad I went with this one. If tone is the only thing you are after, then the Dynomax mufflers probably offer a wider range of sound, but if its performance you are after, then simple physics will tell you this is the way to go. If you look into one end of the muffler, you will see daylight out the other end. It is basically a slight S turn in the pipe to give it the offset and its perforated, so this is about as close to a straight through, open pipe design as you will get. The amazing thing is, it still quiets things down. I ran my truck a few days with open pipes (2004 V6 Tacoma) and as long as I did not open up the throttle, I could get away with it. I liked the sound, but there was no way I could leave it that way, and the drone in the cab on the highway was too much. After the muffler was installed, you could tell it was better sounding than stock at idle, and definitely not stock when goosing it to pass someone. Sometimes when I am leaving the parkade at work to go home, I try to stab the throttle real quick to see if I can make it bark and set off some alarms, but it works well enough I can't get it to be that loud.I love this muffler and will definitely be getting another one when the time comes for another vehicle.

Not to loud but not to quiet!
Definitely a good alternative if you want something louder than stock but not straight piped. Deeper tone, quiet at idle but sounds good everyday driving.

(Relatively) Quiet Performance
I just installed this on my 1996 Honda Del Sol which has a full exhaust that originally came with a N1 -Style Canister Muffler. Regardless of having the top on/off, windows up/down, the old muffler was LOUD to say the least. Worst off all, I could not really hold a conversation inside the car and I looked like an idiot taking off from an intersection as everyone thought I was trying to race them! :\I am huge fan of magnaflow, but looked at other products first, including the complete Dynomax product line. I wanted something quiet that would not hurt performance (Don't we all). After roughly calculating the required flow my engine would need, I ruled out the Dynomax Super Turbo (regarded as one of the most quiet performance mufflers). The Dynomax VT looked good, but I found many (online) reviews of issues with the diverter valve and spring assembly. The Dynomax Ultra Flo is most like the magnaflow, but costs more. This muffler has a high flowing straight-thru design that does not hamper performance. Best of all, the noise level of this muffler on my car is almost stock. It has a really mellow tone that wakes up under hard acceleration.I am extremely happy with this muffler as it solved my loud exhaust issue with a quiet, high flowing solution.
