Loctite 222

I wish I knew this product existed a couple of years ago. I have been using the blue Loctite on my RC cars and often times fine that the blue still has too much holding strength for small fasteners. This purple formula works absolutely perfect on M3 and M4 set screws that do not require a more permanent fastening solution That you often get from the blue or red. I find the purple Loctite product to be superior for my needs and I highly recommend it for anyone who works on RC cars or small hobby items that may frequently need to be disassembled repaired and reassembled. I use a lot of the Loctite 242 variant for various projects and thought I would get this variant for a 3D printer build I am doing. So far it's working great and I will purchase more. I was going to purchase a large bottle of this but it seems there are a lot of phony versions of this on Amazon in the large size, so I purchased the small size and it seems to be the real deal and seems to work like it's supposed to.

Not as popular as 243, which will certainly prevent screws from coming undone and make a semi-permanent bond. On the other hand, 222 is relatively low adhesion, but nevertheless provides a coating. Now, if you have ever come back to a screw years later and tried to undo it, only to find it has seized up, then this is the product for you. Just a drop when putting in the screws provides a thin coating that will prevent the screw from seizing up and make it a pleasure to remove when the time comes. Additionally, it provides a thin coating on the threads of the screws to provide rust inhibition. I use this on any screws that may be exposed to humidity or significant temperature changes that can result in them seizing up to prevent problems in the future! they say low strength but it works perfect for a lock washer type of grip. I used this stuff for years in the 70's. I'm using it again because of its inherent ability to work just right.

Nuts go on and stay tight. But easy to remove if (like me) make a mistake or make changes. Now my scopes stay in place and hold even under hard use pig hunting. I will never go back to other products I’ve tried.

Bought this to use as spoke prep for a bicycle wheel build. This product is essentially bike spoke lubricant and is much cheaper than ParkTool spoke prep. It allows for screws to be adjusted while also reducing nuts from coming loose.

Genuine and quality product. Works as it should. Couldn’t find any loctite locally other than made in China ones. I’m glad Amazon stock this!
