Westinghouse 6660700 Interior Ceiling Fixture 60 Watts, White Finish with Glass Globe

I had a globe light that has been broken for about a year and I was too lazy to fix it. Finally, after arming myself with some youtube knowledge, I decided to replace it myself. It was super easy to install and inexpensive. Took me less than 10 minutes. Yeah, I really should have fixed this a long time ago...I tried to do it as safely as possible using wago lever nuts to pigtail the neutral and switched hot wires and then electrical taping the lever nuts for added security. It works great now and looks good IMO. No more broken light!

Light is a good cheap light for small lCloset.

Pretty and works

I bought several of these lights and I found the installation to be rather bothersome. The instructions have the screw placement backwards. For one light, I had to bend the bracket to get the screws to line up with my plastic ceiling box. With almost all of them, the foil backing on the fiberglass insulation tore or peeled away. The notch in the fiberglass for the mounting screw tended to wander, so it was difficult to get the screw through the base. Using a more rigid fiberglass or rock wool insulation would be a huge improvement.Once you get the fixture base installed, the globe installs easy and looks nice. It is a neutral white that doesn't tinge your light orange or blue. Used with 800 lumen LED lights so the globe stayed cooled.Everything was packaged well (no broken globes) and no pieces were missing.

The Light fixture is just a lot better made than you would think for the price, I was very happy with it and would recommend it highly especially for those apartments that you have rented out. if you like me they like to break a lot of things these are perfect you won't lose a lot of money.

The previous fixture was the modern one that doesn't use light bulbs. IT DIED! so I bought this to replace the base of the one that died. It fit and it worked. It looks great with the OLD glass cover. The old glass one was much prettier than the one that came with this one, but I knew that when I ordered it. I mainly ordered it to get rid of the modern one with those funny light things that died anyway. I went back to the old bulb style one that this is. At least I can change the bulbs when it is necessary without changing the fixture from now on.

This should have been much easier to install than I found it to be.Issue 1I attempted to use the existing mounting plate that was in my outlet box. This didn't work because the mounting screw holes in the existing mounting plate did not line up with the hole in the fixture. (The outlet box that I used was installed in 2001 when the house was built.)The holes were off just enough that I couldn't get the 2nd screw align with the key slot. Whether this was a problem with the new fixture or my mounting plate I do not know.Issue 2I removed the existing mounting plate and installed the mounting plate that came in the package. When tightened one of the mounting screws it quickly came into contact with part in the outlet box that is used to connect the ground wire to one of the holes for a mounting screw.There seemed to be no way around this until I realized that if turned over the mounting bar the mounting screws would both screw in properly. (of course I had to unscrew the ground screw and screw it into the other side of the plate too. The instructions did not mention this problem or the solution that I found.Issue 3Not a major problem, but I found it odd that the English instructions listed warnings that included centigrade temperatures. We generally do not use use Centigrade in the U.S. so these temperatures should have also been listed in Fahrenheit too.

I bought this just for the glass light shade, it was on Amazon Prime and it was hard to find replacements anymore (I tried FIVE hardware stores in Toronto!). The opening for the glass bit is 3 inches if I recall correctly. This glass shade is particularly nice looking, albeit feels thin so handle with care.If you need a light shade replacement for a bath or ceiling light, I recommend :)

Luce increíble y los materiales son de calidad, aunque le pongo un pero, y es que las instrucciones son confusas debido a que el instructivo no corresponde al producto. Adjunto foto de como lo instalamos por si a alguien le es de ayuda.

Buen material

These are so hard to find! We wired this to the outside of our downstairs bathroom; when the bathroom light goes on, the outside globe light goes on. We got small stickers and added the word, ‘Occupied’ to the globe. It’s super cute and nobody worries about getting walked in on anymore!
