Great Buy For Our Needs.
This wheelchair is a dream come true for my dad who is wheelchair bound due to a stroke. He would be lost without it. It collapses and opens easily.* Total weight is not 39 pounds but feels like 55. Comes with a little tool kit for small repairs. Customer service, particularly AL who I dealt with, was wonderful and supportive! Well worth the price.

Love the chair!
Really well made. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who needed a powered wheelchair (especially if you need a portable one). It has great features and is very light for a powered chair. Well worth it.

Very good portable wheelchair
For the best parts: My daughter has cerebral palsy and I've wanted a portable chair for her that could fit in the trunk of my Sentra. This does that very well. It's not as light as I would hope but I can manage getting it into the trunk. She's learning how to use it. It's not as steady as her main chair, but that one requires a ramp and large van to transport. The only terrain that we've had trouble with was slippery wet grass (wheels often lose traction), soft gravel (wheels get stuck sometimes), and one other thing that deserves its own paragraph. You have to be careful if you try to go up or down a slope at an oblique angle. If you try to take anything but a very gentle slope at a diagonal it can sometimes turn quickly in an unintended direction. It surprised us the first couple of times that it happened and scared my daughter a bit.I've taught her to always go straight up or straight down slopes, and to keep her speed up when she does it.All in all I'm very satisfied with this purchase and my daughter loves it. The batteries last a long time before needing recharging and it's improved our mobility out in public a great deal. Overall a very good portable electric wheelchair. I'd buy it again.

Pricy to return
Discovered my elderly parent couldn’t sit in it without using armrests where controller was located and he would have snapped it off. Returned it and had to pay shipping costs and restocking fee so cost me almost $700 to return. Also UPS weighed return package at 69 pounds so no way the chair is 40 pounds. I repacked it in same shipping box and materials it was shipped in and those materials didn’t weigh almost 30 pounds.

Company stands behind the product
I purchased this chair for my adult son. His usual electric wheelchair is too large and heavy to use when traveling. We did have an issue with a front fork breaking on the chair's first use. While that was unfortunate, the people at Porto Mobility responded quickly to my request for assistance. A replacement part was quickly sent to repair the chair. In fact, my son used the chair daily for two weeks while visiting during the recent Christmas holidays. Overall, I'm quite pleased with the chair and Porto Mobility.

Hard to lift and pull when folded.
When folded, this item is a square. This makes the weight distribution hard to lift, especially if you are short. It says it weighs 40 lbs., but it feels heavier than my 60+ lb. scooter. The only way to pull this is with the cover on. It is awkward to pull because it does not have a long handle, it is a bulky square and you only have the cover to pull on. It is compact and keeps your legs folded tightly. I find this difficult because I have arthritis and need to stretch. It does have a smooth ride and fits through store aisles. The seller does not pay return shipping, should you desire to return, AND wants 15% restocking fee, or, I would return this product.
