I was looking for a brown eyed, not totally pale skinned baby doll that closes its eyes - this fit that need perfectly. Additionally, it is soft and cuddly. The face, hands and feet are a softer plastic and a little squishy without being creepy and the body is squishy and very huggable. And the promise of it being machine washable made it impossible to pass up.The baby powder scent is very strong. The entire box and everything in it smelled like baby powder upon arrival and it was wrapped in a plastic bag. I returned before ever using, so I don’t know if the smell would’ve lessened with time and washing.I purchased for my daughter’s 2nd birthday and realized belatedly that she was growing out of the baby doll phase and into the little girl doll phase where she wants to brush and style her doll’s hair, I wish I’d seen this when she was just getting into dolls.

I didn't give this 5 stars because for some reason I thought it would talk. It could've been that I just mis-read something. If you're expecting a cute doll that doesn't blink or talk, then this is a great option. It almost has a throwback quality where toys (dolls) were simpler.

My two year old has had this doll for less than three months. She really likes that the baby closes it’s eyes and likes the smell. I’m disappointed with how rough the dolls outfit looks after such a short time especially for the cost. We changed her into an outfit from a $10 doll from target that has lasted a lot longer.

The doll is beautiful. However, no one uses baby powder any more. The smell is overpowering. It must be skipped in the next model.

This is a cute little doll. I got it for my 14-month-old, so I’m glad it’s smaller than standard dolls. It’s the perfect size for this age. I also like that this model has enough ethnic options that I was able to find a combination that resembles my daughter (light brown skin, brown eyes). Though I wouldn’t call the baby’s skin “light brown” like the title says. Not at all. It’s still within the range of “white”, with a pinkish hue, which was disappointing. The picture makes it look like a more balanced, yellower beige. I wish it was darker and a nicer color, but it’s still darker than the stereotypical pink white of Western caucasians, so it works as both a latino baby, and as a brunette-with-brown-eyes-but-still-sorta-white baby. The “hair” on the baby is a disappointing yellowish brown. I was hoping for a darker brown, given the eyes, but it’s really light. The head is molded to look like there’s a bit of hair and it’s painted, but it’s not too bad. Just a bit of a shadow on top of the head. I’m saying all this because I noticed a lot of questions on these dolls asking about skin color. As the mother of an “ethnic” baby, I’ve started paying attention to these things myself.We’ve only had the doll for a week, so I can’t speak about durability yet, but I’ll update my review once we’ve had it longer. I noticed that there are a lot of reviews saying the doll fell apart quickly, but I also noticed that those are from two years ago, and that the manufacturer replied to the reviews seeking contact, which is encouraging. I’m hoping that by now the doll has been improved, and the current version doesn’t fall apart quickly. We’ll see.The doll has been a total success with my daughter. She had a rag doll before, which she paid no attention to whatsoever, but I think that one was too abstract for her (two dots for a nose, club hands and feet, ropy hair, etc. classic rag doll look). But she loves babies, both real ones and in pictures, so this realistic baby doll was just what she needed. She squeals “baby!” whenever she sees it, carries it around, hugs and kisses it, and puts it to sleep in its bed (shoebox). The hat that comes off has been a big success with her, too. She even seems to like the smell - she sniffs the baby occasionally, and seems pleased. I don’t like the smell myself - it is quite strong, and unnecessary. I didn’t know that dolls nowadays came perfumed! It was nauseating straight out of the box, but after a week, you have to actually put your nose to the doll to smell it, which is an improvement.If it doesn’t fall apart quickly, this will definitely be a five-star purchase.UPDATE: We've had this doll for SEVEN years now! First off, the smell took several YEARS to go away. To the manufacturer: please get rid of it, dolls don't need to be perfumed, it's annoying.The fabric along the neck did start fraying at some point within the first year, but I stitched it back up as soon as I saw it, and there have been no more rips since. This baby is still going strong 7 years later, and is still my daughter's favorite toy ever! She has no other dolls and wants no other dolls, this is IT. It has been to several different countries and continents, got lost once and we had to drive back to look for it (and found it, yay!) I don't even know how it's still holding together after all this, but it is. It's a member of the family by this point, and will be a keepsake that will stay with her forever, to show to her grandkids some day, with pictures of its worldly adventures!

I love this little doll because it fits all of my criteria for the perfect doll to gift to my 18 month old granddaughter! This includes: open/ close eyes; soft fabric body (for a more huggable and lightweight doll); hard plastic head, arms/hands, legs/feet; bean bag bottom making it easier for the doll to stay in a seated position; no real hair that my young granddaughter would destroy; mouth can hold a baby bottle and thumb; small and lightweight enough for a little toddler to carry around; and 100% washable. This is that doll, so I'm very happy. In preparing the doll to give as her Easter gift, I removed the cap and clothes and placed them in a pillow case with the doll, and tied the end of the pillow case closed. I put some towels in the washer too to cushion the doll during the wash cycle. Delicate cycle, cool water. I let it drip dry, which takes awhile for the fabric body to dry. The doll did turn slightly gray colored as another reviewer noted. But I can live with that. There's so many other things to love about the doll, and I know my granddaughter will think so too!

This is the second time we’ve purchased this sweet baby boy and the first doll lasted us 5 years. Unfortunately, the satin tummy that my son absolutely loved about the old doll is no longer being used on this new version. I did a ton of research to determine if the same fabric was still used from ~2016 and could not figure it out until we opened it and of course destroyed the box. Hoping that detail will help someone. We loved it so much we bought it twice for 2 different little boys!

I got this for my daughter at Xmas and she absolutely fell in love with her, carrying her baby everywhere. It's nice and light and part is made with fabric but thats also the reason I am giving this a lower review is because the neck ripped after 3 weeks. Amazon were amazing and sent a replacement and the current doll is holding up well, I think they just need to reinforce the joints and do more rigorous testing. My little girl puts her's in a the Adora stroller and I think pulling her out of there is part of the issue.

My little one LOVES this doll! I bought it for her first birthday in April, and she has really enjoyed playing with it. Up until last week I would have given it 5 stars, however, then the seam at the neck ripped. I have done my best to sew it back together, but it looks like frankendoll now (fortunately with the repair it can be played with and loved again).I would recommend that if you purchase this doll with the intention of it being played with that you use fabric glue on all of the seams before it is played with.I tried contacting Adora through the comments section on their website last week with my concern about the ripped seam, but have heard nothing back. This definitely lowers my review to 1 star. Very disappointing lack of customer service.

Our granddaughter likes her doll, but it has a baby powder type odour imbedded which has not gone away after the first wash. We would not have purchased this if we had known about this attribute. There are enough stray chemicals in our environment without deliberately adding more. Please label the presence of perfume additives.

I’m so disappointed in this purchase as this baby doll is extremely smelly. This overwhelming scent that is supposed to smell like baby powder is sooo bad my toddler threw it on the floor and said it was stinky and it wasn’t even out of the box yet. I’ve left the lid open for 2 weeks and the window open and the whole room smells like cheap perfume. I don’t think if I wash it it will go away. It’s so over powering for a young baby to play with. I was really wanting to love this purchase as this doll is totally adorable. I read a lot of reviews but the baby was so cute I wanted to try and see. The baby is so adorable and the material they are using on the neck and belly is not a cheap silky material anymore. It’s a way better material. Stronger. If the over powering smell wasn’t in this doll it would be an adorable 5 star baby for all babies. I’m returning this item and I’m so sad.I don’t know why they need this scent in a baby toy. It’s ridiculous. Stay away unless you love really strong scents and smells of laundry soap or cleaning products. This baby has an abnormal strong scent to it.If they could send me one with NO scent Or NO smell to it .... then I would give this doll a 5 star review because everything else is awesome!!! and I would be super happy. But the smell ruined it for us.
